1. Call To Order/Roll Call
Meeting called to order at 6:05 p.m.
Present 10 - Board Member Abraham Ramirez, Board Member Angela Ramirez, Council
Member Craig Hurst, Board Member Debra Bullock, Board Member Ed
Hanson, Board Member Jacob Wilson, Council Regular Jose Guardiola,
Board Member Kristi Douglas, Board Member Kristin Henning, and Board
Member Lucy Molina
Absent 2 - Board Member Dindi Wade, and Board Member Samantha Hunt-Duran
2. Welcome/Guest and New Member Introductions
Guest: Troy Smith, Deputy City Manager
New Members: Dindi Wade, appointed to the Cultural Council in July.

Public Art/Other
- Fronterra Public Art was approved by City Council on August 5
- No update on Tower Road
Rotating Art Exhibit
- Reception will take place October 18 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Bison Ridge Recreation
Center.

Fundraising/Grants
-CC Eats
El Jardin is the first restaurant to register. Members to follow-up with other restaurants
in the area.
Marketing Materials
- Members to bring back ideas to next meeting

-Henning will email out the draft of the calendar to the rest of the group for review.
-No update on Facebook or Instagram
Upcoming Events
-September SCFD grant request distribution, October 17
- Non-profit conference Oct 21-22
-Community Festival
6. New Business - Miscellaneous Items and Open Discussion
Cultural Council letter of request & Member Roles and Responsabilities
- Deputy City Manager Smith shared with the Cultural Council that their request for a
Cultural and Arts position was not included in the budget requests. He asked that
members share items that the Cultural Council would like to see accomplished.
Deputy City Manager Smith will work with staff to make adjustments and re-prioritize
Cultural Council items.
- Councilmembers Guardiola and Hurst discussed the roles and responsabilities of the
board. They reminded the group that although it is a volunteer board, it is expected
that they also be a working board.
- Items from this discussion will roll over to the annual planning meeting, October 12.
Topics of discussion will include: by-laws, 5-year strategic plan, and city council goals
Recreation Center Membership
-All boards and commissions in the city should have received a 1-year membership to
the recreation centers as a token of appreciation for service from the city.
New Possible Events
-Members went over the list of possible events. Henning will reach out to Jeannie King
on the Commerce City Derby Art Fair for a potential partnership.
7. Member Comments/Announcements
Hanson reminded the group about the upcoming SCFD Engage-Empower-Connect
Summit.
Bullock shared with the group that Leadership Commerce City is looking for
participants, deadline to register is this Friday.
