Tuesday, October 8, 2019 6:00 PM Room 2108
1. Call To Order/Roll Call
Present 10 - Board Member Abraham Ramirez, Board Member Angela Ramirez, Council
Member Craig Hurst, Board Member Debra Bullock, Board Member Dindi
Wade, Board Member Ed Hanson, Board Member Jacob Wilson, Council
Regular Jose Guardiola, Board Member Kristin Henning, and Board Member
Samantha Hunt-Duran
Excused 2 - Board Member Kristi Douglas, and Board Member Lucy Molina
2. Welcome/Guest and New Member Introductions
Recently appointed, Dindi Wade introduced self.
3. Regular Business
Financial report was discussed.
New members or applications
Two new members will be appointed on October 21. Staff will reach out to extend
invitation to the annual planning meeting. Next round of interviews will be in January
2020.
Outside hours document was completed.
Approval of Minutes
Councilman Hurst motioned to approve meeting minutes from the August regular board
meeting. Hanson seconded. Motion was approved.

4. Committee Reports and Discussion
Art Shows
- Rotating art exhibit update
Reception will be held October 18 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Bison Ridge Recreation
Center.
Hanson, Ramirez, Henning will help out with set-up.

Bullock will finalize catering.
Music will be provided by the Senior Center Music Makers
- Student Art Show
Reception will be held November 25 in partnership with the City's Tree Lighting event
inside Council chambers. The student art display will be hosted inside the atrium from
November 18 through January 3. Ramirez and Wade volunteered to help set-up
artwork. Bullock asked if we could display quilts. Members agreed to accept quilts.
-Music in the Park
Staff sent out the survey feedback. Overall, feedback was positive. Henning will export
contact information to a database for future communication.
-Fundraising/Grants
Grant distribution will be October 17. Staff will RSVP for the Cultural Council. Cultural
Council was awarded a total of $24,510.23 for various projects from the Scientific and
Cultural Facilities District.
- Commerce City Eats
Staff will send out a survey to participating restaurants for feedback. Overall response
was great. Members are pleased with the results.
-Diversity, Equity and Inclusion 101 Workshop by SCFD October 11
Outreach/Events
- A budget for promotional items will be discussed and voted on during the annual
planning meeting, October 12.
-Annual board planning meeting, October 12 at the MSC Building 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
-Photography art reception at Bison Ridge, October 18.
- Public Art
No new update on Tower Road and Fronterra projects.
Planning Committee
-By Laws suggestions will be sent out by Bullock prior to the annual planning meeting.
- Colorado Non-profit Association Conference will be October 21-22. Hanson and
Henning will be in attendance.
Social Media/Marketing/Publicity
-Instagram Followers have gone up.
5. New Business - Miscellaneous Items and Open Discussion
Women in Leadership program by the Adams 14 Foundation, quarterly event.
Councilman Guardiola motioned that Cultural Council send interested women to this
event. Hanson seconded. Motion was approved.
6. Member Comments/Announcements
Commerce City Historical Society presents The Legendary Ladies event, Saturday
November 16, 2-4 p.m.
7. Adjourn
Meeting was adjourned at 7:43 p.m.
