Call to Order Chair Martin called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. Present 5 - Board Member Augusta Jonhart, Jacqueline Riggs-Gonzales, Board Member Jennifer Martin, Board Member Kelly Reyos, and Alternate Board Member Mary Chan Absent 3 - Board Member Linda Barr, Board Member Lucas (luke) Henderson, and Board Member Ronna Sanchez 2. Guest Speaker: Bill Aiken, Derby Mural Update Director of Urban Renewal, Bill Aiken, provided an update on the mural restoration project and an arts festival in Derby. 3. Approval of Minutes Min 23-029 Minutes of Nov. 15, 2022 Meeting Vice Chair Riggs-Gonzales provided a motion to approve the minutes of the Nov. 15, 2022 meeting. Board member Reyos seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. 4. Monthly Reports: Finance & Grants Chair Martin provided the finance and grants report for December and January on behalf of Board member Sanchez. 5. Monthly Public Art Update: A. Public Art Master Plan Overview Staff Liaison, Jenny Penoncello, provided an overview of the Public Art Master Plan. Commerce City Page 1 Cultural Council Meeting Minutes - Final January 17, 2023 6. Subcommittee Reports: A. Performing Arts Vice Chair Riggs-Gonzales provided an update on Music in the Park. She shared dates, locations, bands, band fees, staging and sound fees, and a stipend for the band to have dinner. Councilwoman Douglas made a motion to book the locations, bands, and staging/sound vendor, and approve up to $21,000 for band fees, a stipend to feed the band, and staging and sound for the 2023 Music in the Park Series. Board member Jonhart seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. B. Visual Arts Chair Martin provided an update on the Spring Art Show which will be a photography show with applications opening in February. C. Vision None. D. Governance None. 7. New Business None. 8.
