Call To Order/Roll Call - 6pm Meeting was called to order at 6:03pm. Attendees: Tyler Vitello, Omar Lozano, Nick Gonzalez, Jackie Riggs-Gonzalez, Ronna Sanchez, Jan Cruz, Jade Humphries-Graves, Deana Hall, Jen Martin, Councilmember Kristi Douglas, and Staff Liaison Travis Huntington Absent: Councilmember Susan Noble, Linda Barr, Augusta Jonhart, Cynthia Montes 2. Approval of Minutes Min 24-118 Meeting Minutes 6.18.24 Ronna motioned to approve the minutes. Tyler seconded the motion, which was approved unanimously. Jan Cruz arrived after the vote. 3. Public Comment none 4. Subcommittee Reports A. Music in the Park Ronna provided final attendance numbers (300, 600, 400, 1400 = 2,700 total), a 83% increase from last year Will connect with PRG sooner to set next year dates. Looking at pricing for fitted tablecloths. Wanting to brainstorm more engagement opportunities at Cultural Council booth for next year. Ronna moves to reimburse Councilmember Douglas for $25 purchase of raffle gift card. Jan seconded the motion, which was approved unanimously. Jan noted that Pioneer Park is small for Chicano Heat. Hispanic Heritage Discussed craft and Cultural Council involvement. Tyler mentioned knowing artists that would be interested in selling artwork. Jade mentioned involving her work with the state FAMLI program at a table. Ronna motions to allocate $4500 for entertainment/table needs. Tyler seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. C. Public Art Discussed schedule adjustments due to contract delays. Both art calls are posted on CAFE. Jan noted wanting to have more discussion about longevity and maintenance in future installation discussions. Kristi mentioned opportunity to replace the fake plants at Civic Center with public art. Jen attended the Sand Creek Greenway public art unveiling. Jan mentioned wanting to incorporate student art in future art show exhibitions, which that committee will continue to explore. 5. Monthly Updates A. Grants & Finance Ronna gave a budget and status update. B. Collaboration & Outreach Discussion of staffing for Cultural Council table at Hispanic Heritage event. Jen will send out a sign up. Table is mostly to support craft and not to have swag there. Pursue offering water? Omar will be lead point person for this event. C. Recruitment & Engagement Jan mentioned wanting to revisit earlier idea to launch corporate recruitment effort. D. Volunteer Hours Council should report volunteer hours to Ronna. 6. New Business Jackie mentioned she knows a graffiti artist wanting to do a piece in a local space. Could consider this for spaces where we worry about tagging issues/maintenance. Interested in collaboration. Larry Lovato from Chicano Heat presented idea for a new scholarship for those pursuing music, opportunity for council to potentially pursue ways to partner. Tyler announced that he will be out of the country and can't attend. 7. Old Business A. September City Council presentation date(s) Jen is all set for presentation. B.
