Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting called to order at 2:30pm. Present: Ronna Sanchez, Jackie Riggs-Gonzales, and Nick Gonzales (Cultural Council Music in the Park Subcommittee) 2. Music in the Park Tech Needs Group discussed schedule provided by Parks, Rec, and Golf including dates and locations. They are the same as last year (with minor actual date changes due to keeping concerts on Thursdays). The committee agreed with their recommendation. Group discussed tech needs. Ronna will contact the tech vendors that Melissa supplied, and the subcommittee will decide which will be the best option. 3. Music in the Park Bands The committee discussed what bands to book for next summer. The committee agreed that Chicano Heat definitely needs to be booked. Last year wanted them to kick off the series, but they were unavailable. We will try to get them again to kick off the series and we should be successful since we are starting so much earlier. Next the committee discussed rebooking 2MX2. This band was very popular last year. They are a Spanglish band that appeals to younger audiences as well as older ones. Last year, we tried to book Chris Daniels and the Kings and they were not available on the dates we wanted. We will try to get them this year and again, since we are doing this earlier we should be able to get them. The group also wanted to rebook Hot Lunch as they were recommended by community members and the audience last year really liked them. 4. Music in the Park Promotion The committee discussed promotion and decided that it would be good to promote Chicano Heat as Commerce City's Official Band and also to promote the kind of music each bank plays as many did not know what 2MX2 played. The committee also discussed keeping the events consistent and not have different options for each event regarding food and booths.
