Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting called to order at 1:32pm. In attendance was Zach Venn, Kylie Whitmore, Travis Huntington, and Melissa Sumner from city staff, and Cultural Council members Ronna Sanchez, Jackie Riggs-Gonzales, and Nick Gonzales. 2. Summer Shindig & Music in the Park The group discussed two main options in terms of the Music in the Park/Summer Shindig events: 1. Host 2 Music in the Parks and 2 Summer Shindigs (similar to what we did last year) with clear marketing. 2. Host 4 Music in the Parks with snacks instead of meals (maybe booths) and shift Summer Shindig to the city's Park After Dark series with full meals and booths. The second option was preferred amongst the group. Staff will connect with leadership and this group will reconvene to discuss the 2nd week of December. Any changes to grant proposals for future years and events would have to be done by March. a. Food & Funding b. Community booths c. Marketing Group agreed to have clear communication in all marketing regarding what events are offering. 3. Planning Updates 2 bands are booked (6/12 and 6/26). Another band's ask is out for the final date. Chicano Heat is opening the series at Veterans. Ronna is moving forward with booking.
