Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting called to order by Chair Fred Alfred at 6:10 Present 10 - Bianca Gonzalez-De La Rosa, Frederick Alfred Jr, Iona LongSoldier, Keena Day, Kelly LaRue, Michelle Spreutels Martinez, Modupeola Albert, Nicole Corder, Phazaria Koonce, and Vanina Capitaine Excused 1 - Anmol Singh 2. Challenge Question/Icebreaker Chair Fredrick Alfred lead the commission with an icebreaker. 3. Review Robert Rule of Order Chair Fredrick Alferd went through the Robert’s Rules of Order with the commission using a video. 4. Approval of Minutes Min 21-45 Minutes of February 24, 2021 A motion was made by Chair Fredrick Alfred Jr, seconded by Commissioner Keena Day, that this Minutes be approved. VOICE VOTE: 11 - Aye, 1 - Excused (Singh) 5. Old Business Chair Alfred, Jr. discussed the Diversity and Inclusion resolution. Chair Alfred, Jr. led a discussion on other cities’ diversity, equity, and inclusion commissions. Chair Alfred, Jr. discussed communication channels for the commission. Deputy City Clerk Roberts discussed statutory communication requirements. A motion was made by Commissioner Koonce, seconded by Commissioner Corder, to adopt the mission on the Diversity & Inclusion’s website as the official mission of the Commission. Creative Hour The commission discussed social media, communications, and the C3 2045 plan. 7. New Business A motion was made by Commissioner Day, seconded by Commissioner Corder, to rename the Commission the “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission.” VOTE: 10- Aye, 1 – Excused (Singh) 8. Other 9. Announcements Staff liaison Elliott Abbotts would like their feedback on the ICMA DEI survey. Suggestions and feedback on the survey to be sent to Commissioner Day to send to Staff Liaison Elliott Abbotts by the April 15th. 10. Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 7:58 PM.
