Call To Order Hearing Officer Ablao called the Liquor Licensing Authority Meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. 2. Public Hearings Pres 18-141 New Retail Liquor Store License application for Commerce Liquors dba Liquors Plus II located at 5281 E 52nd Ave Hearing Officer Ablao opened the public hearing. Appearances: Carl Ream, Registration #19397, appearing on behalf of the applicant Tekle Johannes, applicant Mr. Johannes was sworn in and clarified that the application is for Commerce Liquors, Inc., dba Liquors Plus II. He stated that he has 18 years of experience in the liquor industry and knows how to check ID's, determine if someone is intoxicated and to notify the police department if there are any disturbances. Mr. Johannes operated a liquor store in this located for 18 years and sold his license to King Soopers, but old customers reached out to him to reopen. In 18 years he had one violation. No one appeared to speak in favor or opposition to this license application and the public hearing was closed. Hearing Officer Ablao made the following findings: The evidence presented today together with the results of the preliminary findings as well as the documents submitted with the application does support the following: (1) the applicant has presented, especially today, sufficient evidence that the adult inhabitants of the neighborhood do desire the issuance of the license (2) the reasonable requirements of the neighborhood, for the type of license being sought, are not currently being met (3) the number, type and availability of liquor outlets in, or near, the neighborhood do not preclude the issuance of this license (4) the premises is not within 500' of a public or parochial school (5) the premises in not within 1,500' of another retail liquor store or liquor licensed drugstore Commerce City Page 1 Liquor License Authority Meeting Minutes - Final July 3, 2018 (6) though there was a sale to minor more than 10 years ago, the applicant is, at this time, qualified to conduct the type of business proposed. The license is approved with the following conditions: (1) there is a satisfactory inspection, by the police department, to ensure the diagram matches the actual as-built premises (2) compliance of all liquor code rules, regulations and local ordinances. 3.
