1. Call To Order/Roll Call/Pledge of Allegiance
Members Present: Mary Hogan Chan, Bruce Emery, Alejandro Garcia, Jose Guardiola,
Josh Houde, Adam Venanzi, Bret Walker
Absent: Clark Berggren, Craig Hurst, Justin Maillet, Paul Welander
PRG Staff present: Carolyn Keith, Chad Redin, Paul Hebinck, Maria Jepson
Guest: Angela Burgos, Finance Department Budget and Performance Analyst and
Commerce City resident.
Let the record show Member Houde joined the meeting at 6:04 p.m. and Co-Chair
Walker joined the meeting at 6:15 p.m.
2. Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Member Hogan Chan seconded by Member Venanzi to approve
the January 21, 2020 minutes as submitted. VOTE: Unanimous. The motion passed.

3. Unfinished Business
20-04 Veterans Memorial Park Update - Carolyn Keith
Councilman Guardiola shared details from the Veterans Memorial Park groundbreaking
that took place on February 7, 2020. This event included a short presentation sharing
the vision and outline of the next phase of work. Although the recent snow made the
day a bit more interesting, it did not hinder the enthusiasm for the continuing progress
that will be visibly taking shape over the next few months. A video rendering of the
park, inclusive elements, perimeter trails and play equipment was reviewed and
discussed.
20-06 Bison Ridge Park Property Master Plan Update - Carolyn Keith
Carolyn Keith, Director of Parks, Recreation and Golf, updated the group on the initial
development in process determining the potential components and structures to be
incorporated as well as the challenges being faced. Resident input will be encouraged
in the months ahead through open house and online opportunities. Councilman
Guardiola requested that open house events take place at both recreation centers.

Advisory Committee
20-14 Collaboration with Quality Community Foundation (QCF)/Fundraising -
Carolyn Keith
Based on previous feedback, PRG Director Keith invited input on ways that the PRG
Advisory Committee might explore in order to expand the collaboration opportunities
with the QCF and Cultural Council, as well as other groups within the City. The
discussion resulted in potential crossover meetings, events and scholarship ideas
being developed and encouraged.
20-15 Collaboration with other PRG advisory committees - Carolyn Keith, Jose
Guardiola
PRG Director Keith initiated discussion around the idea of bringing the PRG Advisory,
Active Adult and Youth Advisory Committees together along with the and City Council
members to collaborate on areas within Parks, Recreation and Golf that encourage
future efforts of identifying ways to interact, connect and collaborate with the
others.The group was in support of this and finding ways to implement this idea going
forward.

20-16 GOCO 2020 Strategic Plan Listening Tour - Carolyn Keith

PRG Director Keith shared information regarding the upcoming GOCO Strategic Plan
meeting taking place in early March. GOCO uses a portion of Colorado Lottery
proceeds to preserve, protect and enhance the state's wildlife, parks, rivers, trails and
open spaces. If you are interested in attending this meeting, email Carolyn and she will
share more information on it with you.
20-17 CIPP 5 Year Plan - 2021 Update, PRG Advisory Committee Proposed
Projects - Carolyn Keith
PRG Director Keith reviewed the current projects on the CIPP Five Year plan as well
as how these components are determined, developed and prioritized; including
information regarding their funding aspects. The intention is to be a fluid outline that
provides for the repair, replacement and conservation needs that are identified within it.
Input from the community for items considered is encouraged.
5. Council Member Reports & Information
Councilman Guardiola suggested that everyone continue to reach out, communicate
with the City Council members, and participate in the meetings, programs, groups or
events in their various forms. Encourage your family, friends and neighbors to be
aware, informed and involved.

Advisory Committee
Member Emery brought and passed out copies of the Colorado Avid Golfer magazine
noting that Buffalo Run Golf Course was featured from page 63 to 66. He also
provided an update after attending the Daddy Daughter Dance and shared highlights
feedback from the February 7th event.

Distributed to all members via email on February 14, 2020 and available on
www.c3gov.com.
