Call To Order/Roll Call Meeting was called to order at 6:01 p.m. Present: Laurel Eller, Laura Hellewel, Tonia Lopez, Billy Gurr, Theresa Wilson, Catherine Brady, Michael Farrington, LaCrea Dixon, Ingrid Barnett Absent: Melinda Larson 2. Approval of Minutes Meeting minutes of August 24, 2021 Attachments: 08/24/2021 Board member Gurr motioned to approve meeting minutes. The motion was seconded by member Farrington. Meeting minutes were unanimously approved. Meeting minutes of August 30, 2021 Attachments: 08/30/2021 Board member Wilson motioned to approve meeting minutes. The motion was seconded by member Farrington. Meeting minutes were unanimously approved. 3. New Business Council members and Quality Community Foundation members are set to have a joint study session either October 11 or October 25. Board members will let staff know their preferred date and any suggested format for the meeting. Board member Farrington proposed for the board to do a new event similar to the City of Westminster 'Hit the Trials' in Commerce City. Members discussed different ways to brand the event, and identified that more information is needed in order to make a decision on whether to host such event or not. The event topic will continue to be discussed in the following two meetings to better make an informed decision. 2022 Scholarship Over $65,000 in scholarship funds were raised during the first annual Curt Holland Memorial Golf Tournament. Funds will be going towards the QCF scholarship program Commerce City Page 1 Quality Community Foundation Meeting Minutes September 28, 2021 and students of the Commerce City Police Department's families. Board member Gurr motioned to establish a committee of board members to help advise the Police Department with the scholarship application process. Member Hellewel seconded the motion. The motion was approved unanimously. Board members Eller and Lopez have volunteered to sit on the committee. Board members also agreed on the following dates in order to get a flyer finalized and start promoting the 2022 scholarship application. February 1, 2022 have application live on the website and April 1, 2022 deadline to apply for the 2022 scholarship. Due to November's board meeting falling during the week of Thanksgiving, regular scheduled meeting on November 23 will be cancelled. A special meeting will be held, December 11. Some of the topics to be covered, strategic planning for 2022, scholarship review, and elections. More details to come. 4. Other Business Colorado Gives Day, December 7. Member's collective goal for this year is to fundraise $4,000. Members will discuss marketing ideas during October's monthly meeting. Fall Fest, October 16. Members to volunteer to have a booth at this year's event. Board member Eller will send out more information. 5. Announcements & Upcoming Dates None 6.
