Call To Order/Roll Call Chair Carlita Plummer called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. Present 11 - Mayor Pro Tem Susan Noble, Council Member Kristi Douglas, Ex Officio Gabriela Adeshewo, Commissioner Carol Taylor-Boyd, Ex Officio Tina Ledesma, Chair Carlita Plummer, Commissioner E. Diane Narvaez, Commissioner Melinda Mcgowan, Commissioner Carole Harvell, Commissioner Mary Natho, and Commissioner Scott Hefty Absent 1 - Commissioner Myrna Ferguson 2. Mid-Year Celebration and Thank you's Members were introduced to key staff who provide additional logistical support for the Senior Commission. Staff members present represented the Active Adult centers at Eagle Point and Bison Ridge Recreation Centers and the Community Relations Department. Council Member Kristi Douglas excused herself from the meeting. 3. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Commissioner Natho, Seconded by Commissioner Taylor-Boyd, to approve these minutes. Min 24-115 Minutes 6/13 Senior Commission Meeting 4. Public Comment - There was no public comment. 5. Retrospective - Senior Resource Fair Members reviewed comments from the retrospective on the Senior Resource Fair and discussed modifications for future events. Lunch & Learns 2: July 30th The commission discussed final details to prepare for the second Lunch and Learn to be held on July 30th. 7. Lunch & Learn 3: September 18th Members discussed the third Lunch and Learn which will take place at the Bison Ridge Recreation Center on September 18th. The presenter will be Senior Planet. 8. City Council Presentations July 15 and 22nd Senior Commission reviewed details concerning the upcoming presentations before City Council. Chair Plummer will present the Annual Update on July 15th. Corona Insights will present on July 22nd. Chair Plummer will make comments following the July 22nd presentation. 9. Service Certificates and Awards Senior Commission was shown the certificates that will be sent to former Commissioners in appreciation of their service. 10. Swag Items Update Commissioners reviewed the swag items that will be printed with the Senior Commission logo. 11. Monthly Budget Update Senior Commission reviewed the budget and expenses to date. No changes were made. 12. Social Event Discussion This item will be moved to the August 8th 2024 meeting. 13. New Business - Amending Bylaws Discussion 24-177 Attendance and Participation Policy Discussion A motion was made by Commissioner Taylor-Boyd, Seconded by Commissioner Narvaez to add the attendance policy to the Senior Commission Bylaws.
