Call To Order Chair Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present 5 - Commissioner Aliyah Acevedo, Commissioner Morgan Smith, Commissioner Michael Kelley, Commissioner René Bullock, and Council Member Kristi Douglas Absent 6 - Commissioner Desiree Kennison, Commissioner Isabela Velasco-Zubia, Commissioner Keegan Jones, Commissioner Kenia Prieto, Commissioner Megan Pham, and Commissioner Ingrid Barnett 2. Approval of Minutes Min 22-178 Minutes of June 2, 2022 Meeting Commissioner Bullock made a motion to approve the minutes of the June 2, 2022 meeting. Commissioner Kelley seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. 3. Challenge Question No action was taken. 4. Subcommittee Reports Music in the Park Swag The Commission discussed the swag ideas for Music in the Park events. Councilwoman Douglas made a motion to approve expenditures for the Youth Commission Lemonade Stand for the Music in the Park events. Commissioner Acevedo seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Annual Retreat Chair Smith presented the proposed schedule for the Annual Retreat. It was determined that the Annual Retreat would be moved to August 2, 2022. Councilwoman Douglas approved funding not-to-exceed $2,500 for the Annual Retreat and Commission bonding activities. Commissioner Kelley seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. Other Business Skills for the Future Conference The Commission discussed potentially hosting the Skills for the Future Conference in October 2022. It was determined that the Conference would be further discussed at the Annual Retreat. Recruitment Updates The Commission discussed future recruitment opportunities. Commissioner Kelley suggested that the commission get a thank you gift for Mr. DeBord whom loaned his tractor tailor and drove in the parade for the Youth Commission. Councilwoman Douglas made a motion to purchase a $30 gift card for Mr. DeBord. Chair Smith seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. 6. Adjourn Chair Smith adjourned the meeting at 8:03 p.m. Commerce City Page 2
