Call to Order Vice Chair Velasco-Zubia called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Present 11 - Commissioner Aliyah Acevedo, Commissioner Christina Wickersheim, Commissioner Desiree Kennison, Commissioner Isabela Velasco-Zubia, Council Member Kristi Douglas, Commissioner Olivia Cordero, Council Member Craig Kim, Commissioner Elizabeth Martinez-Atayde, Commissioner Manuel Guardiola-Rodriguez, Commissioner Alejandra Guardiola, and Commissioner Serrianna Safieh Absent 9 - Commissioner Cobe Koonce, Commissioner Keegan Jones, Commissioner Kenia Prieto, Commissioner Laura Hellewell, Commissioner Megan Pham, Commissioner Michael Kelley, Commissioner Morgan Smith, Commissioner Paia Martinez, and Commissioner Travis Watkins 2. Approval of Minutes Min 23-142 Minutes of May 4, 2023 Meeting Commissioner Acevedo made a motion to approve the minutes of the May 4, 2023 meeting. Commissioner Cordero seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. 3. New Business: End of the Year Certificate Presentation Staff presented the end of the year awards. Annual Retreat Date Announcement Staff provided an update on the Annual Retreat. It will take place on August 17 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Eagle Pointe Rec Center. C. Music in the Park Table Sign-ups & Survey The Commission discussed Music in the Park. Commissioner Acevedo made a motion to increase the budget to $400 for Music in the Park outreach. Commissioner Cordero seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. Staff provided an update on the Blood Drive and the Commission discussed. 5. Team Building Activity: Escape Room The group participated in the team building activity. 6. Adjourn Vice Chair Velasco-Zubia adjourned the meeting at 7:36 p.m. Commerce City Page 2
