Members present:
Adam Metz, Jennifer Holmes, Reid Garfield, and Charlene Lovato
The City of Coppell Animal Services Advisory and Appeals Board was convened for the
first meeting of 2018 at 5:30 P.M. on May 29th, 2018 at the Animal Services building,
Coppell, Tx. Also present was Nina Williams, Acting Secretary.
Regular Session (Open to the Public)
1. Call to order and welcome new board members.
Meeting was called to order at 5:31 P.M. and welcomed Board members:
Dr. Reid Garfield, Jennifer Holmes and Adam Metz.
2. Citizens' Forum
No citizen's signed up to speak.
3. Consider approval of the minutes: September 26, 2017.
A motion for approval of the minutes from September 26th, 2017 was made by
Charlene Lovato, Acting Manager. Motion was made by Jennifer Holmes with
Adam Metz who seconded the motion. The motion passed unnanimously.
4. Discussion the Animal Services facility remodel.
Items in discussion included the Animal Services facility remodel which is now
complete taking approximately 6 months.
5. Discussion regarding the new volunteer program.
Discussion regarding a new Volunteer program which is expected to kick off
mid June with the intension of all paperwork in order. A light background
check will be done as well as volunteers being 18 years and up. This will be a
starting point at first then the age limit could change.
6. Discussion regarding the Boy Scouts project for the Animal Shelter.
Also mentioned was a few of the Eagle scouts were doing projects for the

shelter such as building a dog house and making a cat tree out of PVC pipe
and soft materials.
7. New Business: Officer Horner will be hosting a presentation on Wild Neighbors:
Solving Urban Wildlife Problems presented by Bonnie Bradshaw, Texas Master
Naturalist and President of 911 Wildlife that will be held June 9th, 11am – 12pm at the
Coppell Police Department PD Training Room.
Adjournment
