Jennifer Holmes, and Reid Garfield
Also present were Animal Services Officer Charlene Lovato and Recording
Secretary Nina Williams.
The Animal Services Advisory and Appeals Board of the City of Coppell, Texas, met in
the Conference Room of 821 S. Coppell Road on August 21, 2018.
The purpose of this meeting is to consider the following items:
Regular Session (Open to the Public)
1. Call To Order
Meeting called to order at 5:33 PM.
2. Consider approval of the Minutes: May 29, 2018.
The minutes from the May 29, 2018 meeting were approved by the Board.
3. Update Advisory Board of Animal Service activity.
A. New Organizational structure.
B. Clear the Shelters 2018.
C. Partnerships with Other Shelters.
Discussion regarding one open position left as Manager for now. Charlene
Lovato is Acting Manager at present time. Sergeant Sammy Lujan is acting
liason updating Animal Services ordinances as Captain Anthony Mauer has
been appointed to over see Animal Services.
Discussion of the 2018 Clear the Shelters ended up being a total of 29
Adoptions for the day noting that three weeks prior Animal Services had 35
Adoptions also.

Appeals Board
Discussion regarding Animal Services using our resources to help other
shelters when we can has helped as most area shelters are over crowded. All
Board members were in agreement with this. Also, recently we have had to
reach out to Rescue groups for help whether it be for an injured dog or cat, a
very sick animal which they have pulled through for us and rescued.
