Parkway Boulevard. As authorized by Section 551.127, of the Texas Government Code, one or more appointed board member or employees may attend this meeting remotely using videoconferencing technology. The purpose of this meeting was to consider the following items: Regular Session (Open to the Public) 1. Call To Order Boardmember Guignon called the meeting to order at 6:32 pm. Members Present: Ed Guignon, Nick Paschal, Margaret Bryan, Mary Arnold, Maureen Corcoran, Zainab Tinwala, Edward Rose, Jeff Roller, Enaika Kishnani, Hannah Greenberg City of Coppell, Texas Page 1 Parks and Recreation Board Minutes January 9, 2023 Members Absent: Mike Ridgley Staff Present: Jessica Carpenter, Sheri Belmont, Cecilia Gandara, Vanessa Contreras, Eric Clay, Chris Welnetz, Layne "Dusty" Cline 2. Introductions Boardmembers and staff gave their introductions. 3. Election of officers A motion was made by Boardmember Guignon to nominate Boardmember Paschal as Chair and Boardmember Corcoran as Vice Chair, seconded by Boardmember Bryan, that this agenda item be approved. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. 4. Citizens' Forum Chair Paschal advised that no one signed up to speak. 5. Consider approval of minutes: December 5, 2022 A motion was made by Boardmember Bryan, seconded by Boardmember Corcoran, that this agenda item be approved. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. 6. Manager's Update - Eric Clay, Tennis and Pickleball Center Manager Eric Clay, Wagon Wheel Tennis and Pickle Ball Center Manager, and Chris Welnetz, Lead Teaching and Programming Professional, gave an update regarding rentals, registrations, and special events at the center. 7. Youth Advisor's Report Chair Paschal informed the youth advisors that this item is for them to update the board on ideas or wants from the youth in the community. 8. Director’s Report Director Carpenter gave an update on upcoming special events, park project status and general departmental information. 9. Chair Report A. Future Agenda Items Chair Paschal thanked Boardmember Guignon for his years of service to the Parks and Recreation Board. Boardmember Guignon gave his appreciation to the board and staff.
