Parkway Boulevard, Coppell, Texas The purpose of the meeting was to consider the following items: Regular Session (Open to the Public) 1. Call To Order Chair Paschal called the meeting to order at 6:33 p.m. Members present: Nick Paschal, Maureen Corcoran, Margaret Bryan, Mary Arnold, Jeff Roller, Edward Rose, Steve Harrison, Hazel Newton, Avery Fishman Staff present: Jessica Carpenter, Sheri Belmont, Adam Richter, Cecilia Gandara, Vanessa Contreras, Lauren Rodriguez, Calie Willis, Jason Brooks, City of Coppell, Texas Page 1 Parks and Recreation Board Minutes April 1, 2024 Christopher Welnetz 2. Citizens' Appearance Chair Paschal asked for those who signed up to speak: 1. Chaufeng Yang, 204 Sleepy Hallow Ln. Coppell, TX 75019 spoke in regards to the positive transformation that the Wagon Wheel Tennis & Pickleball Center has had on his family. 2. Steven Harris, 128 Oak Trl. Coppell, TX 75019, expressed his concerns regarding the Wagon Wheel Tennis & Pickleball Center fees. 3. Lydia Goulas, 905 Crestview Dr. Coppell, TX 75019, expressed her concerns in regards to DART Silver Line enhanced landscaping, and height of the sound wall. 4. Jack Henderson, 617 Pheasant Ln. Coppell, TX 75019 expressed his support of expanding the Wagon Wheel Tennis & Pickleball center. 3. Consider approval of minutes: February 5, 2024 Attachments: Minutes A motion was made by Boardmember Roller, seconded by Boardmember Arnold, that this agenda item be approved. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. 4. Manager’s Update – Wagon Wheel Tennis and Pickleball Center Jason Brooks along with Christopher Welnetz gave an update on the current and upcoming activities at the Wagon Wheel Tennis & Pickleball Center. 5. Presentation by the members of the Pickleball Community Kris Longborg a member of the Pickleball Community, gave a presentation regarding proposed changes to the Wagon Wheel Tennis & Pickleball center operations. 6. Update regarding Master Plan Jessica Carpenter along with Lauren Rodriguez provided an update on the last Master Plan meeting and the new Social Pinpoint online site. 7. Youth Advisor's Report Youth Advisor's updated the board with the current projects they are working on. 8. Director’s update regarding upcoming events, projects, and departmental developments.
