Urquia, City Clerk City Commission Meeting Minutes June 29, 2020 In accordance with City of Coral Gables Code Sections 2-30 and 27-2(c)(5) and Chapter 286.011, Florida Statutes, the City of Coral Gables will be holding a Special/Emergency Virtual City Commission Meeting for the purpose of discussing Commercial and Residential Garbage Collection Services and RFP 2020-015, to determine whether the July City Commission Meeting and Budget Workshop will take place fully virtually, as a hybrid meeting (with the public attending virtually), or as a traditional meeting of the City Commission, a Resolution urging Miami Dade County to transfer “Cares Act” federal funds to the City of Coral Gables and other municipalities within the County, a Resolution regarding the purchase of certain furniture for the Public Safety Building, and an Emergency Ordinance amending Chapter 27 “State of Emergency Ordinance”. The City Commission Meeting will be held as a VIRTUAL MEETING with elected officials and City staff participating through video conferencing. This virtual meeting will be held on the Zoom platform used by the City Clerk for live remote comments. Members of the public may join the meeting via Zoom at https://zoom.us/j/95209433752. In addition, a dedicated phone line will be available so that any individual who does not wish (or is unable) to use Zoom may listen to and participate in the meeting by dialing: (305) 461-6769 Meeting ID: 952 0943 3752. In addition, the public may comment on an item on the agenda using the City’s already-established e-comment function which may be found on the City’s website at: (www.coralgables.com/commissionmeetings) once the meeting’s agenda is published or by sending an email to cityclerk@coralgables.com prior to the start of the meeting. The meeting will also be broadcasted live for members of the public to view on the City’s website (www.coralgables.com/cgtv) as well as Channel 77 on Comcast. Please note that Governor DeSantis’ Executive Order Number 20-69, Executive Order 20-112, and Executive Order 20-150 suspended the requirements of Section 112.286, Florida Statutes, the Florida Sunshine Law, that a quorum to be present in person, and that a local government body meet at a specific public place. The Executive Order also allows local government bodies to utilize communications media technology, such as telephonic and video conferencing for local government body meetings. Gimenez and the Board of County Commissioners of Miami-Dade County, Florida (“Board of County Commissioners”) to transfer Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (“CARES”) Act federal funds received by Miami-Dade County to the City of Coral Gables and to other municipalities within the county based on population and further directing the City Clerk to transmit a copy of this resolution to the officials named herein. DISCUSSION ITEMS This time is for informal discussion among the City Commissioners, the City Manager and the City Attorney ADJOURNMENT NOTE Any person who acts as a lobbyist pursuant to the City of Coral Gables Ordinance No . 2006-11, must register with the City Clerk, prior to engaging in lobbying activities before city staff, boards, committees and/or the City Commission. A copy of the Ordinance is available in the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall. Any person, or persons, wishing to appeal any decision made by the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at this meeting or hearing, will require a verbatim record of the proceeding upon which the appeal is based. Interested persons should, therefore, take the necessary steps to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made which contains the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based.
