ROLL CALL Present: 5 - Board Member Daley,Board Member Permuy,Board Member Miller,Board Member Bello and Board Member Arevalo APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES 18-8105 Construction Regulation Board Minutes of November 5, 2018 Ms. Daley did not vote as she arrived after the vote. A motion was made by Board Member Permuy, seconded by Board Member Miller, that this matter be approved. The motion passed by the following vote. Yeas: 4- Board Member Permuy,Board Member Miller,Board Member Bello and Board Member Arevalo Excused: 1- Board Member Daley PUBLIC HEARING UNSAFE STRUCTURE CASES 18-7217 1450 Baracoa Avenue Respondents were present. The owner must provide an engineer’s report within 7 days certifying it is safe for all occupants to remain in the home from present day to throughout the construction process. If the report is not submitted and approved by the Building Official within the 7 days, all occupants must vacate the premises within 10 days after the expiration date. Power to the structure will be disconnected after the last 10-day deadline and only reconnected for the purpose of construction and/or until compliance. Permits must be applied for to correct all structural violations and all other applicable deficiencies or to demolish the structure within 30 days of the Board’s Order. All work must be completed within 5 months, to include permits and inspections, from the date of the Board’s Order. If no compliance of applying for permits within 30 days, a $250 daily fine to commence until completion of all permits and inspections. A motion was made by Board Member Miller, seconded by Board Member Arevalo, that this matter be approved. The motion passed by the following vote. The owner shall recertify the structure within 60 days of the Board's Order. If the requirement is not completed within the 60 days the owner shall pay a $250 daily fine for each day the violation continues. 18-8167 45 Madeira Avenue Complied prior to Hearing. 18-8168 260 Navarre Avenue Complied prior to Hearing. 18-7197 9610 Old Cutler Road (3 Structures - Picnic Shelter, Park Office Building, Red Fish Grill Restaurant) - Request for extension of time Respondents were present. The owner shall recertify the Park Office Building and the Picnic Shelter within 60 days of the Board's Order. If the requirement is not completed within the 60 days the owner shall pay a $250 daily fine for each day the violation continues. The Red Fish Grill Restaurant is on hold until re-occupancy is determined. A motion was made by Board Member Arevalo, seconded by Board Member Permuy, that this matter be approved. The motion passed by the following vote. The owner shall provide proof of a signed contract detailing the required repairs, financing for the repairs and permits issued to the Board within 60 days from the date of the Order. If the requirement is not completed within the 60 days the owner shall pay a $250 daily fine for each day the violation continues. A motion was made by Board Member Daley, seconded by Board Member Miller, that this matter be approved. The motion passed by the following vote. Yeas: 5- Board Member Miller,Board Member Bello,Board Member Arevalo,Board Member Daley and Board Member Permuy 18-8171 255 University Drive Respondents were present. The owner shall recertify the structure within 60 days of the Board's Order. If the requirement is not completed within the 60 days the owner shall pay a $250 daily fine for each day the violation continues. A motion was made by Board Member Daley, seconded by Board Member Miller, that this matter be approved. The motion passed by the following vote. Yeas: 5- Board Member Bello,Board Member Arevalo,Board Member Daley,Board Member Permuy and Board Member Miller DISCUSSION ITEMS Election of Chairperson and Vice Chairperson Mr. Bello was unanimously voted as Chairperson.
