General Updates The Coral Gables Golf and Country Club Divisional Director Mitch Zuriarrain has formally parted ways to assume a position in the private sector, according to Deputy Director Carolina Vester. She continued by saying that until a suitable candidate is found to fill that position, Deputy Director Carolina Vester will be covering at the Country Club. Special Events Deputy Director Carolina Vester proceeded to update the board on the forthcoming event for the month of May, including The Memorial Day Weekend Pool Bash and Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony – Monday, May 27 at 9a.m. c. Administrative Updates The report began with Director Couceyro and Deputy Director Carolina notifying the board about the budget advisory board, requesting that they attend their meeting and offer an update on the country club's finances. As a result, she delivered a presentation that we provided to them for the first quarter. So, we now have updated versions of quarters one and two. Deputy Director Carolina informed the board that if they were interested in the upcoming meeting, she could give them the second quarter's financial results. NEW BUSINESS City of Coral Gables Page 2 Coral Gables Golf and Country Club Meeting Minutes May 22, 2024 Advisory Board a. The monthly poolside events (as a replacement to the mixers that were previously hosted) The members were informed by Deputy Director Carolina that the mixers will take place on a quarterly scheduled basis. b. A suggestion for more space for the class workout room. Is it possible to expand the workout room, as board member Sherry Celesia questioned? It is not possible to give an answer to that at this time, Deputy Director Carolina said. We are unable to accomplish that since we are looking at a construction project. The members of the board discussed their ideas to the Director and Deputy Director regarding the reorganization of the athletic club in order to make more space available. c. A request for additional class weights. Is there a status update? d. public comment – Swim Lanes Deputy Director Carolina responded that if we add more, there is only room for one more. It's ready to have a new lane installed because we put safe hooks in the wall. According to Deputy Director Carolina, she just needs to make sure there is enough storage on the reel to reel up an additional full lane. It's simply impossible to add more. OLD BUSINESS a. Code of conduct Board Member Albert Sanchez is interested in the status of the athletic club's code of conduct. Deputy Director Carolina indicates that she received a handbook draft from Carlos Llompart. She informed him that a sign with the code of conduct would need to be made and it would need to be simplified. Like at most facilities, in the gym, or even on the tennis courts and other equipment. Basically, we require seven or eight items to be key. b. Athletic Club’s Survey Former Coral Gables Golf and Country Club Divisional Director Mitch Zuriarrain mentioned that he was working on the athletic club's survey, according to board member Albert Sanchez.
