FINAL City of Corona Library Board of Trustees' Minutes Tuesday, November 19, 2024, 5:30 p.m. Council Chambers 400 S. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Chair, Jami Merchant, led the Pledge of Allegiance. 2. CALL TO ORDER Chair, Jami Merchant, called the meeting to order at 5:31PM. 3. RECOGNITIONS/PRESENTATIONS - Jami Merchant Councilman, Wes Speake, Director, Community Services, Donna Finch, and Library Manager, Daniell Whittington presented Chair, Jami Merchant with a plaque, and flowers for her 6 years of service to the Corona Public Library, Board of Trustees. 4. NOMINATION AND ELECTION OF 2025 CHAIR Nomination of Vice Chair, Aisha Kennerly to serve as Chair for the 2025 year. MEETING MINUTES 6.1 Minutes - October 22, 2024 - Draft The minutes of the regular board meeting held on October 22, 2024, were approved. CONSENT CALENDAR 7.1 Board Graph, Stats, Calendar, and Flyers The Consent Calendar was accepted. COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC Rita Jackson, One Legacy, addressed the Board of Trustees, asking for support of the One Legacy organ donor program. 9. YOUTH UPDATE None. 10. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS 10.1 Library Report - November 2024 Director, Donna Finch, introduced Library Manager, Daniell Whittington, and the report to be presented. Daniell presented the Library report for October 2024. The Trustees provided comments. TRUSTEE COMMUNICATIONS Trustee, Heineman, thanked Rita Jackson for all she does for One Legacy. She also thanked Daniell for her presentation, and it will be a busy holiday season for the Library. Vice Chair, Kennerly, thanked Rita Jackson as well. Her brother was an organ recipient. Trustee, Leonard, thanked Rita Jackson, and said that her mom was an organ donor. November 30th the Friends will have Santa Claus in the High Desert Room for pictures, goodie bags, and a free book. The concerts will be December 4th with CAT, December 11th with Circle City Chorale, and December 18th, Eleanor Roosevelt High School Madrigals and Jazz ensemble. Looking forward to an amazing 2025. Chair, Merchant, thanked Ms. Jackson for coming. Organ donation has personally touched many people. She thanked the Library for everything and she will come back.
