Sawyer Street, Shawano, WI CALL MEETING TO ORDER WITH MOMENT OF SILENT PRAYER OR MEDITATION • Chairperson Tony Zielinski called the Police & Fire Commission meeting to order on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Shawano City Hall. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL • Roll Call showed members present: President Tony Zielinski, Vice-President Marvin D. Erdman, Secretary Stacey Cicero, Members Ronald Bystol, and Dan Mauel. • Also present: Police Chief Mike Musolff and Captain Shane Stange. COMPLIANCE WITH OPEN MEETING LAW • Cicero reported the agenda was faxed or emailed to Shawano Leader, WTCH, Market Messenger, Public Library, and Premier Community Bank. It was posted at Shawano City Hall and the City's website. APPROVAL OF PROPOSED AGENDA • Motion by Mauel to approved the agenda, seconded by Bystol. Motion carried by Voice Vote. APPROVAL OF THE FEBRUARY 27, 2025 MINUTES • Motion by Bystol to approve the February 27, 2025 Police & Fire Commission minutes, seconded by Mauel. Motion carried by Voice Vote. CLOSED SESSION GO INTO CLOSED SESSION UNDER WISCONSIN STATUTES SECTION 19.85(1)(c) CONSIDERING EMPLOYMENT, PROMOTION, COMPENSATION, OR PERFORMANCE EVALUATION DATA OF ANY PUBLIC EMPLOYEE UNDER THE COMMISSION'S JURISDICTION (Police Officer position) • Motion by Cicero to go into Closed Session per Wisconsin Statutes Section 19.85(1)(c) considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee under the Commission's jurisdiction, and invite Chief Musolff and Captain Stange into the meeting, seconded by Bystol. Roll Call Vote "Ayes" Cicero, Bystol, Erdman, Mauel and Zielinski. "Nays" None. Motion carried. RETURN TO OPEN SESSION PER WISCONSIN STATUTES SECTION 19.85(2) • Motion by Cicero to return to Open Session, seconded by Mauel. Motion carried by Voice Vote. ACT ON ANY MATTERS DISCUSSED IN CLOSED SESSION, IF APPROPRIATE • Motion by Zielinski to add Ayden Hale to the current eligibility list, seconded by Cicero. Motion carried by Voice Vote. • Motion by Mauel to authorize Shawano Police Department to make a conditional offer to Hale, seconded by Cicero. Motion carried by Voice Vote. DISCUSS AND ACT ON DECERTIFYING THE CURRENT ELIGIBILITY LIST • No need to decertify the list as no one is on the list.
