City Council Meetings

CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2021 1. The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m., through ZOOM. Councilmembers present were Mayor Mike Lavey, Robert Dobry, Amy Huckins, Orly Lucero, Mayor Pro-tem Rachel Medina, David Rainey, and Arlina Yazzie. Staff members present were Director of Human Resources Matt Cashner, Network Administrator Bill Kuhn, City Clerk Linda Smith, City Manager John Dougherty, and City Attorney Mike Green. There was one person signed up as a participant on ZOOM. 2. Mayor Lavey stated that Council will adjourn to Executive Session for a conference with the City Attorney for the purpose of receiving legal advice on specific legal questions under C.R.S. Section 24-6-402(4)(b) and for the purpose of determining positions relative to matters that may be subject to negotiations, developing strategy for negotiations, and/or instructing negotiators, under C.R.S. Section 24-6-402(4)(3). He noted that Council will be interviewing an Executive Search Company for finding a replacement for the City Manager position. Councilmember Rainey moved that Council adjourn to Executive Session. Councilmember Dobry seconded the motion, and the vote was as follows: Dobry Huckins Lavey Lucero Medina Rainey Yazzie Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Council returned from Executive Session at 7:12 p.m. Councilmember Huckins moved that Peckham & McKenny be hired to complete the search for a new City Manager.
