Creative placemaking and public art ii. “Create Denver” initiative iii. there has been a rich creative culture that has been built in Denver where it is drawing creatives here iv. “Yes Please More” = 100 percent Colorado creative goods like “buy local” 1. utilizing vacant spaces 2. popup stores a. had no budget so had to dumpster dive to get cardboard b. this store brought in $30,000.00 in three months c. they took 30 percent, started a grant fund d. funding local startups 3. projection mapping event on city buildings a. social cohesion 4. Screen in downtown denver like times square a. “Oh Heck Yeah” - interactive street arcade - launched 2014 i. like microsoft kinect ii. using “fun” as the secret sauce, to build communities 5. Meow Wolf - they have an installation there a. poster child of experience economy 6. How do artists sell experiential? a. Omega Mart i. Farm to Spaceship is a small business excelerator 1. they work with artists but also to help build business relationships 2. “immersive community” 3. how to build an experience economy fund 4. prototype concept and provide next level of investment 5. how do we have capital fund for these ventures a. “rainbow dome” immersive experience meets rollerskating b. Nov 4/5 - Denver Immersive Gathering “DIG” 6. “Personal transformation, business transformation, and community transformation” vii.
