MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER / PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE / ROLL CALL
Mayor Mark Pietrowski called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was
recited. Roll call by Clerk Aldis showed as present Trustees Brad Stone, Mike Siewierski, Jim
Walker, Doug Corson, Charmaine Fioretto, and Randi Olson. Quorum was present. Also
present were Police Chief Lin Dargis, Public Works Director Joel Summerhill, Engineer/Zoning
Administrator Brandy Williams, and Attorney Kevin Buick.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Trustee Stone moved to approve the agenda as presented, seconded by Trustee
Siewierski. Unanimous voice vote carried the motion.
PUBLIC WISHING TO SPEAK
There was no one wishing to speak.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS FOR DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION
There was no unfinished business.
NEW BUSINESS FOR DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION
1. Consider a Motion to Approve a Resolution Approving the Plat for the PENELOPE
ALMADY SUBDIVISION - UNIT 6 WITHIN CHESTNUT GROVE-UNIT 1
SUBDIVISION (Resubdivision LOT 9 Chestnut Grove Subdivision Unit 1. This is the
final step in the process for fee simple units)
Trustee Corson moved to approve Resolution Approving the Plat for the Penelope
Almady Subdivision - Unit 6 Lot 9 within Chestnut Grove - UNIT 1 Subdivision,
seconded by Trustee Siewierski.
Voting Yea: Trustee Stone, Trustee Siewierski, Trustee Walker, Trustee Corson,
Trustee Fioretto, Trustee Olson. Motion carried. R 2024-07
2. Consider a Motion to Approve a Resolution Approving the Plat for the PENELOPE
ALMADY SUBDIVISION - UNIT 7 Within CHESTNUT GROVE-UNIT 1 SUBDIVISION
(Resubdivision LOT 8 Chestnut Grove Subdivision Unit 1. This is the final step in the
process for fee simple units)
Trustee Corson moved to approve Resolution Approving the Plat for the Penelope
Almady Subdivision - Unit 7 Lot 8 within Chestnut Grove - UNIT 1 Subdivision,
seconded by Trustee Siewierski.
Voting Yea: Trustee Stone, Trustee Siewierski, Trustee Walker, Trustee Corson,
Trustee Fioretto, Trustee Olson. Motion carried. R 2024-08

3. Consider a Motion to Approve an Ordinance Approving the Final Plat for Robinson
Farm PUD Unit 3 Resubdivision Lot 209 in the Town of Cortland, DeKalb County,
Illinois (This is the final step in the process for fee simple units)
Trustee Corson moved to approve an Ordinance Approving the Final Plat for Robinson
Farm PUD Unit 3 Resubdivision Lot 209, seconded by Trustee Walker.
Voting Yea: Trustee Stone, Trustee Siewierski, Trustee Walker, Trustee Corson,
Trustee Fioretto, Trustee Olson . Motion carried. ORD 2024-09
PARKS ADVISORY COMMITTEE REPORT
Trustee Fioretto reported that the committee would meet on the 13th. They have submitted
proposed park names to the mayor for Board discussion . She believes they will have the park
bench ideas formalized after the next meeting for Board consideration. They will be focusing
on ideas for Dragon Tail Pond area knowing that there is no budget for any items in FY25 .
Mayor Pietrowski reported that the first donated bench has been delivered but not
installed. The donated trash can is being constructed.
COMMENTS
Trustee Corson reported that Summer Fest is completed. The weather was beautiful. Turn-
out was lower than expected. They had no crowd issues, and the fireworks were
outstanding. He mentioned that there are always competing events such as the Power &
Steam show and county fairs.
DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS
It was noted that the public works bucket truck is down for repairs.
There was a brief discussion regarding replacement of broken windows at 50 W Maple
Ave. The windows will be replaced and then reboarded until the building is occupied. The
cost would be approximately $5,000.
MAYOR'S REPORT
Mayor Pietrowski reported that he had met a vendor family at the Fest. The young lady had a
lemonade stand. The money that she makes is used to purchase sensory kits and
headphones to donate to the police and fire departments.
Mayor Pietrowski reported that Trustee Walker is the Board Liaison for the 50 W Maple Ave
project.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to discuss a motion for adjournment was made by Trustee Siewierski,
seconded by Trustee Corson. Unanimous voice vote carried the motion. The meeting
adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
