Parks Advisory Committee Minutes

Discussion of canceling December and January meetings
Chair Fioretto mentioned the possibility of reducing the meeting schedule as the
committee moves into the winter seasons with the holidays. She suggested canceling
the meetings for December and January. The committee was in favor. It was decided
that the next meeting will be held on February 10th.
Ideas for the Future of Cortland Parks
The committee discussed the possibility of installing solar downlighting in the parks to
help deter vandalism, including motion-sensor lights that would activate only when
movement is detected. They also explored whether it would be feasible to hire a part-
time employee during the summer months to care for the parks. Responsibilities could
include weed maintenance, general cleanup, minor repairs to park equipment, and
planting flowers around park signage.
Adjournment
Chair Fioretto asked if there was any additional business to discuss.
With no further items brought forward, Chair Fioretto called for a motion to adjourn. A
motion was made by Mr. Kouba and seconded by Ms. Kaminski. The motion carried
unanimously, and the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
