Department of Public Works Board of Commissioners Meeting Tuesday August 12, 2014 Members present: Chris Bistocchi- Superintendant Nick Dovi- Deputy Superintendant Mike Doughty- Chairman Pat O’mara- Vice Chairman Steve Pearsall Cliff Kostuk Russ Teeter Meeting called to order at 6:36 PM by Superintendant Chris Bistocchi Approval of minutes from previous meeting (June 10th, 2014) Motion by Steve Pearsall second by Mike Doughty All in favor-officially accepted Old Business -Children at Play signage on Harmony Circle brief discussion. New Business- -Review of current GIS project and status of mapping and data collection in coordination with SUNY Cortland. Discussion of importance and progress on storm sewer, sanitary sewer signage mapping. -The possibility recommending to counsel designating the north side of West Main as no parking at alderpersons request (J. Byrd). Discussion topics included: possibility of surveying residents cars parked on north side actually slow speeding traffic Motion by (Steve Pearsall) to take no action on subject more information is needed. Second by (Pat O’mara) -Discussion of posting “do not enter” signage on Groton Avenue at Ottercreek superintendant Bistocchi gave a basic overview along with outlining the goals of the project. Mike Doughty requested further information like police data and keeping Ken Dye (the alderperson) and the residents in the area in the loop. Extra Items for discussion: Bridge projects The possibility of formulating an official procedure to include input from residents where vehicle and traffic changes are being discussed.
