Department of Public Works Board Meeting Tuesday 5/10/2016 Members Present: M. Doughty S. Pearsall K. VanGorder C. Kostuk R. Teeter Others Present: Superintendent- C. Bistocchi Dep. Superintendent N. Dovi Meeting called to order at 6:31 by M. Doughty Approval of minutes from the DPW Board meeting from April 12th, 2016 Motion by R. Teeter Second by C. Kostuk All in favor- unanimously approved Old Business: Further discussion and vote on adjusting the parking configuration on Prospect Terrace. Vote was to restrict parking on the South side of Prospect Terrace from Calvert street East approximately 75 ft. (to the nearest driveway) Motion by K. VanGorder Second by C. Kostuk Unanimously approved- recommendation will be made to Common Council to legislate New Business Discussions on the reduction of speed limits at two locations in the City of Cortland. Denti Way Read through various emails from the alderperson and CAPCO. Discussion of possible options. M. Doughty wanted to note the plan was to install a sidewalk on the Beaudry Park side of the street for pedestrian traffic. Contact will be made by a DPW representative to all parties involved outlining the proposed plan. Graham Avenue Discussion of request and departmental authorities and jurisdiction. Motion to table by S. Pearsall Second by R. Teeter All in Favor- unanimous K. Vangorder requested an official speed study be conducted and for DPW officials to look into the Community Assistance Program before making any recommendations. Parking adjustments at the Capco offices located at 32 North Main Street. Discussion about ramp access and the specs of installing a handicapped parking spot parallel to the roadway. The general lack of parking in the area and possible solutions that CAPCO could institute on their own property such as do not block drive signage. Motion to deny by K. VanGorder Second by R. Teeter All in favor- unanimous Motion to adjourn meeting at 7:15pm Second by C. Kostuk All in favor- unanimous
