Department of Public Works Board Meeting Tuesday September 13, 2016 Members Present: M. Doughty, S. Pearsall, C. Kostuk, P. O’Mara Others Present: Superintendent- C. Bistocchi Deputy Superintendent- N. Dovi Resident- Bill Stark from Groton Avenue Meeting called to order at 6:30 by Pat O’Mara Approval of minutes from the DPW Board meeting from August 9th, 2016 Motion to accept: First by M. Doughty Second: C. Kostuk All in favor- Unanimously approved Old Business: 1. 161 Port Watson Street- Water Grievance Brief discussion by members of the Board regarding the circumstances that resulted in the removal and testing of the water meter at the property owner’s request. The meter tested 99.6% accurate. The Board discussed the meters accuracy and the Rules and Regulations outlining if the water runs through the meter, the property owner is responsible for the charges. Motion to deny: First by S. Pearsall Second: C. Kostuk All in favor: Unanimously approved New Business: 1. Request by resident and Mayor’s Office to evaluate the current parking structure on Fox Hollow. Brief Discussion by Board regarding width of Fox Hollow and if all residents were in favor. M. Doughty asked DPW officials to reach out to B. Carpenter, the Alderperson of that ward, to canvas the area and report back. A discussion of automobiles constantly parking in close proximity to stop signs in the area was also discussed and concluded that this was an enforcement issue that would be relayed to the Police Department. No action taken on the subject at this time.  2. Discussion regarding removing or altering the curb and radius on the corner of Grant Street and Rickard due to complaint from the property owner at 60-62 Grant Street. Superintendent C. Bistocchi gave the Board maps of the area and outlined lane widths. S. Pearsall commented on the disrepair of the curb systems throughout the City. No action taken at this time. Board members concluded that the current configuration was adequate. 3. Water Grievance for 39 and 39 ½ Tompkins Street. Brief discussion of the supporting documents from the property owner Nancy Medsker, who was not present. The Board discussed the Rules and Regulations outlining if the water runs through the meter, the property owner is responsible for the charges. Motion to deny: First by M. Doughty Second by S.
