PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, August 2, 2023 9:00 A.M. Present: Chair Tim McKinley, Mayor Paul Meier, Genie Wambaugh, Ed Wise, Mark Lehman, James Knadler Absent: Michael Simms, City Engineer Mike Yeager Staff Present: City Administrator Alex Mattingly, Nikki Hill (Prime AE Engineers), and Public Works Director John Scheben Chairperson Tim McKinley called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and led the Committee in the Pledge of Allegiance. The first item considered was approval of the July 5, 2023 meeting minutes. Mark Lehman motioned to approve, and Genie Wambaugh seconded, all voting in favor. New or Continuing Business A. Turkeyfoot Road Improvement Project – No update. B. Duke Energy Streetlight LED Conversion – Mayor Paul Meier reported that the all the residential streetlights and those on Town Center Blvd. have been converted to LED lighting except for two lights. The lights on Dixie Hwy., Turkeyfoot Rd., and one light on Dudley Rd. are still in the process of being converted to LED. C. Horsebranch Rd. Landslide – John Scheben reported that the project was under construction and lane closures had been kept to a minimum so far. The work is ongoing and expected to be finished by the end of the month. D. Vernon Drive Update – Nikki Hill said that the project is on hold pending Altafiber relocating its fiber optic lines deeper under Vernon Drive. The storm sewer improvements are complete. Alex Mattingly will contact Altafiber to request its work be expedited. E. Dixie Hwy. Sidewalk Improvements (Whitehouse Drive to North City Boundary with Lakeside Park) – Niki Hill stated that the City is waiting on KYTC to authorize the funds, so the project can start. CT Consultants will be handling the project for Crestview Hills. F. Thomas More Parkway Roadway and Curb Repairs – Ms. Hill reported that Crestview Hills should hear in October whether the grant for this work has been awarded by the Ohio- Kentucky-Indiana Council of Governments. Since a similar grant request was submitted for repaving Horsebranch Rd., the committee requested that this project be combined with Thomas More Parkway agenda item. 1 G. Centre View/Chancellor Streetlight LED Conversion – Crestview Hills owns 15 streetlights on these streets, and a Hemmer affiliate owns the remaining lights while the City pays the electric costs. Mr. Scheben is working with Edgewood Electric to have the City-owned lights converted to LED as soon as practical. H. Campus Drive/Dudley Road Improvements – The City of Edgewood is coordinating this project, and has experienced unavoidable delays. The Crestview Hills portion of the project will likely start at the end of August. L. Duke Energy Gas Transmission Line Replacement Project – Mr. Scheben reported that he is working with the City Engineer to get road restoration standards for Rossmoyne, Woodspoint, Centre View, and Chancellor to Duke Energy Staff Report – None. The next meeting of the Committee is scheduled for Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. Adjournment Motion to adjourn by Mr. Wise, seconded by Mr. Lehman, all voting in favor to adjourn.
