Graham, III Council Member Pamala Harris Council Member Scot Shanks Council Member Danny Wyatt City Manager Greg Wood City Clerk Valerie Hale Call for Special Meeting Minutes July 2, 2018 Call to Order Mayor James Mayberry called the meeting to order at 5:01 p.m. Roll Call Present 4 - Council Member Danny Wyatt, Mayor Pro-tem J. H. Graham, Council Member Scot Shanks, and Mayor James Mayberry Absent 1 - Council Member Pamala Harris Others present: City Manager Greg Wood, TIm Begley, Kevin Music, David Beaty, Mike Turner, Will Ridley, Fred Houston, Leah Crockett, Scott Humphrey, Jim Young, Gary Nelson, Bryan Stone, and Malena Fisher. Ordinances on Second Reading 1. Ordinance amending Crossville Municipal Code regarding Hotel Occupancy Tax A motion was made by Mayor Pro-tem J. H. Graham, seconded by Council Member Danny Wyatt, that this ordinance be approved on second reading. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Council Member Danny Wyatt, Mayor Pro-tem J. H. Graham, Council Member Scot Shanks and Mayor James Mayberry Absent: 1- Council Member Pamala Harris Councilmember Pamala Harris arrived at 5:03 p.m. Councilmember Graham stated, "The 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment is to be deployed in Eastern Europe for 13 months and are leaving for deployment from our National Guard Armory here in Crossville on July 15. As our CIty Council, in honor and appreciation of these patriotic ladies and gentlemen, I propose that we shall deem in recognition of their duty to serve their country, that on July 15, 2018, our community observe the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment Day and that our entire community exhibit their appreciation by gathering the streets and highways at 6 a.m. as they have requested, as they travel from said National Guard Armory toward I-40 so as to wish them well and a safe return home." Mayor Mayberry said he would make a proclamation declaring July 15 as 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment Day. Mayor Mayberry also announced that he had received word from Amanda McGraw, Chief Financial Officer of the Tennessee Department of Revenue, that the City of Crossville census is certified and the new official population of the City is 11,564.
