RE: Minutes of the Special Common Council Meeting held July 3, 2000
The meeting was called to order by Gene Mayor at 5:40 P.M. The Pledge of
Allegiance and Prayer were offered. The members were recorded as:
PRESENT – Levy, Scalzo, Saadi, Machado, Shuler, John Esposito, Arconti, John
Esposito, Gallagher, Gogliettino, Michael Moore, Martin Moore, Saracino
ABSENT – McAllister, Smith, Buzaid, Dean Esposito, Coco, Abrantes, Pascuzzi,
Basso

NOTICE OF THE SPECIAL MEETING – There will be a Special Meeting of the
Common Council of the City of Danbury in the Common Council Chambers in City Hall
to act upon the item listed below. Mr. Levy made a motion to accept the call of the
Special Meeting and the Return of Service. The motion was seconded and passed
unanimously.
There were no members of the public wishing to address the Common Council.
1 – REPORT & RESOLUTION – Neighborhood Assistance Act
Mr. Arconti submitted the following report:
The Common Council met as a committee of the whole immediately following a
public hearing on July 3, 2000 at 5:15 P.M. in the Common Council Chambers. In
attendance were Council Members Levy, Scalzo, Saadi, Buzaid, Arconti, John Esposito,
Pascuzzi, Furtado, Gogliettino, Michael Moore, and Saracino. Absent were Council
Members McAllister, Smith, Dean Esposito, Machado, Shuler, Coco, Abrantes, Basso,
Gallagher and Martin Moore.
Mr. Levy made a motion to receive the communication and adopt the resolution.
Seconded by Mr. Furtado. After discussion, the motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Saadi made a motion to adjourn at 5:25 P.M. Said motion carried
unanimously.
RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Danbury:
WHEREAS, the Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act Program is available
for area non profits to submit applications for funding; and
WHEREAS, the Act provides tax credits for businesses which contribute to
community programs having received both municipal and state approval; and
WHEREAS, certain local and area organizations are seeking to apply through
Danbury for such tax credits; and
WHEREAS, no local matching funds are required; and
WHEREAS, said organizations and their requests are as set forth on Schedule A
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Danbury through its
Common Council, hereby approves, subject to a public hearing as required by law, those
organizations set forth in the schedule for participation in the Neighborhood Assistance
Program, and authorize Gene F. Eriquez, Mayor of the City of Danbury to take such
actions as may be necessary for the accomplishment of the purposes hereof.
Mr. Levy made a motion to receive the report and adopt the Resolution as
presented. The motion was seconded and approved unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Common Council a motion
was made at 5:45 P.M. for the meeting to be adjourned.
