Mayor Mark D. Boughton, Mayor City Council Members Mayor Mark D. Boughton called the Special City Council Meeting to order at 8:04pm on December 02, 2013. Legislative Assistant Jean Natale called roll. PRESENT WERE COUNCIL MEMBERS: Philip Curran, Michael Haddad, Jack Knapp, Warren Levy, Gregg Seabury, Colleen Stanley, Andrew Wetmore, Irving Fox, John Priola, Vinny DiGilio, Elmer Palma, Chris Arconti, Joe Cavo, Thomas Saadi, Fred Visconti, Peter Nero, Benjamin Chianese, Paul Rotello, Duane Perkins, Marina Loyola and Joseph Scozzafava. PRESENT: 21 ABSENT: 0 Corporation Counsel Robert Yamin and Deputy Corporation Counsel Laszlo Pinter and Legislative Assistant, Jean Natale, were also in attendance. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG & PRAYER Mr. Yamin led everyone in the room in the Pledge of Allegiance. Council Member Curran led everyone in the room in a prayer. Jean Natale, Legislative Assistant, read the notice of the Special Meeting. Council Member Cavo moved to accept the call to return to service for the Special Meeting, seconded by Council Member Perkins. Motion passed by unanimous vote. Public Speaking As there was no one who wished to make comments, Public Speaking was closed. ITEM #1: ELECTION OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT Council Member Seabury nominated Joseph Cavo as President of the City Council. Council Member Stanley seconded the nomination. Mayor Boughton asked for further nominations for Council President. As there were none, nominations were closed. The motion to elect Joseph Cavo as Council President passed unanimously. Council Member Perkins asked for clarification on the duties of the Council President. Mayor Boughton explained the duties of the Council President. ITEM #2: REGULAR MEETING DATES OF THE COUNCIL Council Member Cavo moved to receive the communication and Resolution and to adopt the Resolution as presented, seconded by Council Member Seabury. Council Member Rotello asked if the dates were vetted for Religious or other Holiday conflict. The Mayor assured him that Religious leaders approved the dates. The motion passed unanimously. ITEM #3: SPECIAL MEETINGS OF THE COUNCIL Council Member Cavo moved to receive the communication and Resolution and to adopt the Resolution as presented, seconded by Council Member Seabury. Council Member Saadi asked if seven members requested a special meeting did the Mayor need to sign the call of meeting. Corporation Counsel Pinter responded that he did. The motion passed unanimously. Mayor Boughton extended all committees. As there was no further business before the Council, Council Member Nero moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 pm.
