SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER 7, 2015 Honorable Mayor, Mark D. Boughton, called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE & PRAYER John Esposito led all in the Pledge of Allegiance. Chief Curran led all in prayer. ROLL CALL: COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Christina Chieffalo, Philip Curran, Mike Esposito, Jack Knapp, Warren Levy, Gregg Seabury, Andrew Wetmore, Irving Fox, John Priola, Vinny DiGilio, Joseph Cavo, Thomas Saadi, Fred Visconti, Elmer Palma, Christopher Arconti, John Esposito, Duane Perkins, Ben Chianese, Paul Rotello, Nancy Cammisa, and Joseph Scozzafava. PRESENT: 21, ABSENT: 0 ALSO PRESENT: Bob Yamin, Corporation Counsel; David St. Hilaire, Director of Finance; and Jean Natale, Legislative Assistant. Mayor Boughton noted the return of service for the Notice of Special Meeting means that all Members have been notified in accordance with the Code of Ordinances. A motion was made by Councilman Cavo and seconded by Councilman Perkins, to accept the return of service for the Notice of Special Meeting. The motion carried unanimously. PUBLIC SPEAKING - None 1. Election of Council President Mayor Boughton opened nominations for Council President. A motion was made by Councilman Knapp and seconded by Councilman Curran, to nominate Joe Cavo for Council President. A motion was made by Councilman Seabury and seconded by Councilman Saadi, to close nominations. The motion carried unanimously. The motion to elect Joe Cavo as Council President carried unanimously. Council President Joe Cavo thanked everyone for their support and continued ability to work together as a team. 2. RESOLUTION – Regular Meeting Dates of the Council A motion was made by Councilman Cavo and seconded by Councilman Fox, to receive the Resolution and adopt the meeting dates for the next two years for the City Council for the City of Danbury as listed in the packet supplied to everyone for the Special Meeting. The motion carried unanimously. 3. RESOLUTION – Special Meeting of the Council A motion was made by Councilman DiGilio and seconded by Councilman Cavo, to receive the Communication and adopt the Resolution outlining specifics regarding Special Meetings as presented . The motion carried unanimously. Mayor Boughton appointed Les Pinter as Parliamentarian. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Council, a motion was made by Councilman Seabury, seconded by Councilman Perkins, to adjourn. The motion carried unanimously.
