PUBLIC HEARING April 16, 2018 Honorable Mayor Mark D. Boughton Members of the City Council Call To Order: Councilman DiGilio called the Public Hearing to order at 7:00 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance: Mr. Pinter led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Philip Curran, Colleen Stanley, Warren Levy, Robert Taborsak, Andrew Wetmore, Irving Fox, John Priola, Vinny DiGilio, Fred Visconti, Chris Arconti, John Esposito, Duane Perkins, Ben Chianese, Paul Rotello, Nancy Cammisa, and Joe Scozzafava. COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: Councilwoman Chieffalo may be late due to a work obligation; Councilman Mike Esposito may be late due to a family obligation; Councilman Cavo is recuperating; Councilman Saadi has a family obligation; and Councilman Palma has a work obligation. PRESENT: 16, ABSENT: 5 ALSO PRESENT: Robert J. Yamin, Corporation Counsel; Les Pinter, Deputy Corporation Counsel; David St. Hilaire, Director of Finance; and Jean Natale, Legislative Assistant. Notice: Mr. DiGilio noted following the Public Hearing on items 1., 2., 3., 4., 5., 6., and 7. the Committee of the Whole will meet on items 2., 3., 4., 5., and 6. following the Public Hearing. Mr. DiGilio read the legal notice for the City Council to hear public comment on: 1. An Ordinance making appropriations for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018 and ending June 30, 2019 and a resolution Levying the Property tax for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018 and ending June 30, 2019 2. An ordinance appropriating 3,000,000 for public improvements in the 2018-2019 Capital budget and authorizing the issuance of 3,000,000 Bonds of the city to meet said appropriations and pending the Issuance thereof the making of temporary borrowings for such purpose 3. An Ordinance setting Sewer Rates as of July 1, 2018 4. An Ordinance setting Water Rates as of July 1, 2018 5. Senior Tax Freeze. Code of Ordinance, Section 18-12.1.1 6. 2018 Neighborhood Assistance Act 7. Governmental Entities, Code of Ordinance Section 2-176 A motion was made by Robert Taborsak, seconded by John Esposito, to receive the call for the meeting and Notice of Public Hearing. The motion carried unanimously. 1. An Ordinance making appropriations for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018 and ending June 30, 2019 and a resolution Levying the Property tax for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018 and ending June 30, 2019 Lynn Waller, 83 Highland Avenue, Danbury, spoke regarding Item 1. Close Public Hearing A motion was made by Andrew Wetmore, seconded by John Esposito, to close the Public Hearing. The motion carried unanimously. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
