~AD HOC REPORT~ Naming Request for Rogers Park Press Box Wednesday, October 18, 2023 Chairman Henry called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Present were Committee Members Joseph Putnam and Fred Visconti. From the City were; Jack Knapp, Constituent Services in the Mayor’s Office and representing the Parks & Recreation Department; Ray Yamin, Corporation Counsel Representative. Also present; Ex Officio Member Ben Chianese, and from the public was Al Robinson. Mr. Henry asked Mr. Knapp for an overview of the request. He noted several individuals high praise of Tony Gervasio and indicated that Mr. Hanrahan and Mr. Simone of D.A.Y.O would be at the Council meeting to express their support for this request. A motion made by Councilman Putnam, and seconded by Councilman Visconti, to approve the request for Rogers Park Press Box Naming in the name of Tony Gervasio. The motion carries unanimously. Mr. Chainese asked if Mr. Cervasio is still involved, and asked about requirements for naming a press box. Mr. Visconti noted Mr. Cervasio’s service to youth sports since 2004 which has included; Board member, President, Vice President, Baseball Commissioner, Empire, and Coach. He clarified that the press box is not used for just members of the press. A motion was made by Chairman Henry, and seconded by Councilman Visconti, to adjourn. The motion carries unanimously.
