~AD HOC REPORT~ Budget Ad Hoc: Health & Human Services and Public Safety Monday April 7, 2025 Chair Frank Salvatore called the meeting to order at 6:31p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025. Present were Committee Members Lou Giordano, Barry Rickert, Paul Rotello, and Emile Buzaid. From the City were Dan Garrick, Finance Director; Kara Prunty, Assistant Finance Director (Budgets & Grants); Danny Hayes, Veterans Advisory; Police Chief Ridenhour, Deputy Chief Sturdevant; Fire Chief Thode and Deputy Chief Loundsbury; James Schullery, Building Official (Inspector); Matthew Cassavechia, Emergency Preparedness, Ambulance, Emergency Services Dispatch; Tom Nicohls, Weights & Measures; Shawn Stillman, UNIT Coordinator; Michael Safranek, Airport Administrator; Fernanda Carvalho, Acting Director of Health & Human Services; Susan Tomanio, Elderly Services Richard Schreiner, Chief Executive Officer, HARTransit. Also from the City were Roberto Alves, Mayor; Taylor O’Brien, Chief of Staff, Mayor’s Office; Advisor, Mayor’s Office; Farley Santos, Community & Economic Development Advisor, Mayor’s Office; Joanne Stark, Assistant Finance Director (Operations). Ex Officio Members present were: Peter Buzaid, Ben Chianese, Andrea Gartner, Duane Perkins, Michael Coelho, Ryan Hawley. Present from the public were Tom Brown, Michael Flanagan, and some unidentified individuals. DUE TO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES THE AUDIO FOR THIS MEETING WAS NOT RECORDED. A motion was made by Councilman Giordano, and seconded by Councilman Rickert , to recommend that the City Council adopt the Health and Human Services Budget and Public Safety Budget for the Fiscal Year 2025-2026. The motion carried unanimously. A motion was made by Councilman Rickert and seconded by Councilman Rotello , to adjourn. The motion carried unanimously.
