CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Meeting MINUTES January 12, 2022 10:00 a.m. Via Videoconference Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Shay Nagarsheth and Commissioner Andrew Wetmore. Also present were Denise Janey, Chief Examiner; and Janice Giegler, Town Clerk. Minutes: Review and accept previous meeting’s minutes Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to accept the previous meeting's minutes. Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: New Hires: Ms. Janey noted three new hires: Jose Martinez, Police Officer with the Danbury Police Department; Matthew O’Connor, Police Officer with the Danbury Police Department; and Abbey Lewis, Public Health Inspector with the Health Department. Status Change: None Promotions: None Retirements: None Resignations: None New Business: Qualification of Applicants: - Assistant Registrar of Vital Statistic Ms. Janey noted the City received fifty-nine applications. Commissioner Wetmore noted the following passed in person id ending in 390, 645, 209, 136, 834, 701, 611, 076, 058, 658, 585, 201, 515, 321, 702, 624, 896, 183, 739, 873, 952, 059, 897, 370, 890, 601, 316, 908, 251, 993 and 387.  Ms. Janey requested a written exam be substituted, due the high number of qualified applicants. Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to pass the individuals listed by their person id for the Assistant Registrar of Vital Statistic position. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to list the Assistant Registrar of Vital Statistic exam as a written exam. Motion carried unanimously. - Epidemiologist Ms. Janey noted the City received twelve applications. Motion by Commissioner Wetmore, seconded by Chair Nagarsheth, to qualify the following individuals for the position of Epidemiologist with the person id ending in 771, 583, 343, 414 and 712.
