CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Meeting MINUTES March 24, 2022 10:00 a.m. Via Videoconference Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Andrew Wetmore, Commissioner Susan Ward and Commissioner Bruce Bennett. Also present was Denise Janey, Chief Examiner; Virginia Werner, Human Resources; Patrick Ridenhour, Police Chief; Shaun McColgan, Deputy Police Chief; and Nelly Duran, Human Resources. Minutes: Review and accept previous meeting’s minutes Motion by Commissioner Ward, seconded by Chair Wetmore, to accept the previous meeting's minutes. Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: Status Change: None New Hires: Ms. Janey noted the City hired two new employees with the Danbury Library: Margaret Cortese and Kaylie Trinidad. Promotions: Ms. Janey noted Eric Cieply was promoted to Sergeant in the Police Department. Retirements: None Resignations: Ms. Janey noted the following resignations: Richard Janey, Health Department; and Michael Broofske, Public Works Department. New Business: Welcome New Civil Service Commissioners: Susan Ward and Bruce Bennett Request to Remove Certified Police Officer from Eligibility List:  - Justin Ehrhard Ms. Janey noted Mr. Ehrhard failed to complete post offer testing. Motion by Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Bennett, to request to remove Certified Police Officer Justin Ehrhard from the Eligibility List. Motion carried unanimously. Qualification of Applicants: - Deputy Police Chief Motion by Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Bennett, to qualify the Eligibility List for Deputy Police Chief with person id's ending in 306, 088, 523, 550 and 553. Motion carried unanimously. - Certified Police Officers Chair Wetmore noted the Commission will not be passing the following person id’s ending in: 377, 170 and 658. Motion by Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Bennett, to qualify the following individuals for Certified Police Officer with person id's ending in 729, 159, 769, 752, 274, 483, 725, 912 and 453. Motion carried unanimously. Request to Approve Eligibility List (s): - Assistant Registrar of Vital Statistics Ms. Janey noted the City received 59 applications and added 10 qualified individuals to the Eligibility List. Motion by Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Bennett, to approve the Eligibility List for the Assistant Registrar of Vital Statistics. Motion carried unanimously. - Children’s Program Coordinator Ms. Janey noted the City received 10 applications and added 4 qualified individuals to the Eligibility List. Motion by Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Bennett, to approve the Eligibility List for the Children’s Program Coordinator. Motion carried unanimously. - Library Technical Assistant II (Civic Engagement and Mktg)  Ms. Janey noted the City received 5 applications and added 1 qualified individual to the Eligibility List. Motion by Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Bennett, to approve the Eligibility List for the Library Technical Assistant II. Motion carried unanimously. - Truck Driver Ms. Janey noted the City received 7 applications and added 6 qualified individuals to the Eligibility List. Motion by Commissioner Ward, seconded by Commissioner Bennett, to approve the Eligibility List for the Truck Driver. Motion carried unanimously.
