CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Meeting MINUTES May 11, 2022 10:00 a.m. Via Videoconference Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Susan Ward and Commissioner Bruce Bennett. Also present was Denise Janey, Chief Examiner; Shaun McColgan, Deputy Police Chief; Patrick Ridenhour, Police Chief; Dianne Rosemark, Assistant Corporation Counsel; and Scott Fabich, Detective and John Dickson, Sergeant. Minutes: Review and accept previous meeting’s minutes Motion by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Chair Ward, to accept the previous meeting's minutes. Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: Status Change: None New Hires: Susan Ciaburi – promoted to Account Clerk II in Tax Collector Office, Retirements: None Resignations: None New Business: A motion made by Chairman Ward to add two Police Lieutenant Applicant Appeals to the agenda. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bennett. Motion passed. Applicant Appeal – Detective Scott Fabich. Detective Fabich requested his appeal be approved, based on his skills, experience and years of service as a member of the Danbury Police Department. . Motion by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Chair Ward, to accept Detective Fabich’s application for the Police Lieutenant. Motion carried unanimously. Applicant Appeal – Sergeant John Dickinson. Sergeant Dickinson requested his appeal be approved, bead on his skills, experience and years of service as a member of the Danbury Police Department. . Motion by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Chair Ward, to accept Detective Fabich’s application for the Police Lieutenant. Motion carried unanimously. Qualification of Applicants: - Electrical Inspector. The commissioners reviewed all applicants for the Electrical Inspector position and concluded the following will move forward to the next phase, The applicants are #027, #064 and #559. Motion by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Chair Ward, to accept application as stated. Motion carried unanimously. - HR Generalist The commissioners reviewed all applicants for the HR Generalist position and concluded the following will move forward to the next phase. The applicants are #973, #642, #668, #978, #427, #689, #512, #382, #539and #236. Motion by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Chair Ward, to accept application as presented. Motion carried unanimously. - Librarian I (Project Coordinator) Motion by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Chair Ward, to qualify the following individuals for the Librarian I (Project Coordinator) position with person id's ending in 736, 374 and 194. Motion carried unanimously. - Parts Inventory Attendant The commissioners reviewed all applicants for the Parts Inventory Attendant position and concluded the following will move forward to the next phase. The applicants are #679, #735, #408, #100 #683, #585. Motion by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Chair Ward, to accept application as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
