CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Meeting MINUTES November 9, 2022 10:00 A.M. Via Videoconference (ZOOM) Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Commissioner Rick Rogers. Also present were Commissioner Bruce Bennett, Ginny Werner, Director of Human Resources; Nelly Espinal, Acting Chief Examiner, Dianne Rosemark, Assistant Corporation Counsel and Christina Henry, HR Generalist. Minutes: October 26, 2022 Motion made by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Rogers, to accept the meeting minutes dated October 26, 2022. Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: Promotions: Commissioner Rogers noted that Paulo Freitas was promoted to Truck Driver in the Highway Department. Resignations/Terminations: Commissioner Rogers noted that Matthew O’Conner, Police Officer and Daniel Stachowitz, Chief Examiner/HR Analyst were no longer employed with the City of Danbury. New Business: Request Removal of Candidates– Certified Police Officer Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Rogers, to remove three candidates from the Certified Police Officer Eligibility List; Candidates 565118, 566573, and 563006. Motion carried unanimously. Qualification of Applications: - Entry Level Police Officer Motion made by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Rogers, to accept the applicants for the Entry Level Police Officer position with person id's 166653, 53830 & 168268. Motion carried unanimously.  -Assistant Zoning Enforcement Officer Motion made by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Rogers, to accept the following applicants for the Assistant Zoning Enforcement Officer position with person id's ending in 1905, 9398 and 7103. All others were rejected due to not meeting the minimum requirements. Motion carried unanimously. -Police Sergeant Motion made by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Rogers, to accept ALL applicants for the Police Sergeant. Motion carried unanimously. -Certified Police Officer Motion made by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Rogers, to accept the applicants for the Certified Police Officer position with person id's ending in 3695, 3124, and 9588. Motion carried unanimously. Certification of the Municipal Agent Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Rogers, to certify the Municipal Agent Eligibility List with an expiration date of November 9, 2023. Motion carried unanimously. Certification of the Entry Level Police Officer Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Rogers, to certify the Entry Level Police Officer Eligibility List with an expiration date of November 9, 2023. Director of HR, Ginny Werner noted that the three candidates that were previously accepted for the Entry Level Police Officer position are included in this list that is being certified. Had they not been accepted; the certification of this eligibility list would have been tabled to the next CS Meeting. Motion carried unanimously. Request to Interview additional candidates for Entry Level Police Officer Motion made by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Rogers, to approve the request to interview an additional 25 candidates for the certify Entry Level Police Officer position. Motion carried unanimously. Request to add an item to the agenda Motion made by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Rogers, to add an item to the agenda. Motion carried unanimously. Certification of the Certified Police Officer Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Bennett, seconded by Commissioner Rogers, to certify the Certified Police Officer Eligibility List.
