CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Meeting MINUTES January 5, 2023 10:00 A.M. Via Videoconference (ZOOM) Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Susan Ward. Also present were Commissioner Rick Rogers, Nelly Espinal, Acting Chief Examiner, Ginny Werner, Director of Human Resources, Christina Henry, HR Generalist, Patrick Ridenhour, Chief of Police, and Dianne Rosemark, Assistant Corporation Counsel and a member of the public. Minutes: Meeting December 14, 2022 Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to accept the meeting minutes dated December 14, 2022. Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: New Hires: Kathleen Dunn- Account Clerk II- Payroll, Alessandra Casiello – Librarian I (Innovation and Sustainability) Promotions: Daniel Garrick, Director of Finance New Business: Request Removal of Candidates– Entry Level Police Officer Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to move into executive session to discuss candidate Joshua Zurita-Carmona’s request for removal from the eligibility list. Motion carried unanimously. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to return from executive session and start recording again. Motion carried unanimously. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to remove Joshua Zurita- Carmona from the Entry Level Police Officer Eligibility List. Motion carried unanimously. Qualification of Applications: - Certified Police Officer Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to accept all applicants for the Certified Police Officer position. Motion carried unanimously. Certification of the Police Sergeant Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to certify the Police Sergeant Eligibility list with an expiration date of January 5, 2024. Motion carried unanimously. Certification of the Truck Driver Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to certify the Truck Driver Eligibility list with an expiration date of January 5, 2024. Motion carried unanimously. Certification of the Certified Police Officer Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to certify the Certified Police Officer Eligibility list with an expiration date of January 5, 2024. Motion carried unanimously. Certification of the Accountant-Payroll Supervisor Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to certify the Accountant- Payroll Supervisor Eligibility list with an expiration date of January 5, 2024. The Commissioners also accepted the request to use the Department Head interview in lieu of the oral exam. In this case the written exam score was the score used for purposes of the final score and rank on the eligibility list. Motion carried unanimously. Request removal of Candidates- Municipal Agent Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to remove candidates 51524096 and 46096053 as per the candidate’s request.
