CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION Meeting MINUTES February 22, 2023 4:30 P.M. Via Videoconference (ZOOM) Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Susan Ward. Also present were Commissioner Rick Rogers, Nelly Espinal, Chief Examiner, Patrick Ridenhour, Chief of Police, Michael Sturdevant, Deputy Police Chief, Christina Henry, HR Generalist, and Ginny Werner, Director of Human Resources, Aleyda Martinez, HR Assistant and members of the public, Konrad Dziedzic, Brandon Ernst and Joseph Deluca. Minutes: Meeting February 8th, 2023 Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to accept the meeting minutes dated February 8th, 2023. Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: New Hires: William Magrino, David Viertel, Olgamarianne Orengo, Miguel Perdomo, Carmen Mistretta, Stephen Perry- Police Officers- Police Department Thomas Blackman- Truck Driver- Highway Department Promotions: Anthony Mistretta, Police Sergeant – Police Department New Business: Request Removal of Candidates– Entry Level Police Officer Eligibility List Chair Susan Ward offered the candidates being considered for removal from the Entry Level Police Officer eligibility list, the opportunity to enter into executive session, should they wish to. None of the candidates requested to move into executive session. It was further explained by the Director of HR that any information discussed would remain on the record, and those candidates present, understood. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to remove applicant 242020- Konrad Dziedzic from the Entry Level Police Officer Eligibility List. Motion carried unanimously. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to remove applicant 220567- Brandon Ernst from the Entry Level Police Officer Eligibility List. Motion carried unanimously. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to remove applicant 233915- Joseph Deluca from the Entry Level Police Officer Eligibility List. Motion carried unanimously. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to remove applicant 215295- Alexander Moran from the Entry Level Police Officer Eligibility List. Motion carried unanimously. Request Removal of Candidates– Certified Police Officer Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to remove applicant 589911- Michael Benzinger from the Certified Police Officer Eligibility List. Motion carried unanimously. Qualification of Applications: - Lead Pipe Installer_ Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to accept applicant 46810378. Applicant 52662789 was rejected for lack of experience. Given that there is only one applicant that met the requirements for this position, the Department head interview will be used in lieu of the oral exam. Motion carried unanimously. Qualification of Applications: - Plumbing HVAC Inspector_ Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to accept the following applicants: 52683863, 52660223 and52758674. The following applications were rejected for lack experience or lack of meeting the minimum requirements: 52613884 and 52813666. Motion carried unanimously. Certification of the Clerk Typist II Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to certify the Clerk Typist II Eligibility list with an expiration date of February 22, 2024. Motion carried unanimously. Certification of the Equipment Mechanic Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward, to certify the Equipment Mechanic Eligibility list with an expiration date of February 22, 2024.
