CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES June 28, 2023 10:00 P.M. Via Videoconference (ZOOM) Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Susan Ward. Also present were Commissioners Rick Rogers and John Neumuller, Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour, Aleyda Martinez, HR Assistant, Christina Norman, HR Generalist, Doug Evanuska, Lead Tree Operator, Ginny Werner, Director of Human Resources, Andi Gray, Payroll Supervisor and member(s) of the public Anthony Festo, Cooper Whiteside, Vincent Zhao and Richard Sobscak. Minutes: Meeting June 14th, 2023 Motion made by Chair Ward, seconded by Commissioner Neumuller, to accept the meeting minutes dated Wednesday, June 14th, 2023 Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: New Hires Eric Murph, Certified Police Officer Anthony Rountos, Public Health Inspector Promotions Marc Andretto, Operator Repair Person New Business: Request removal of candidates- Entry Level Police Officer Eligibility List Chair Susan Ward offered the candidates being considered for removal from the Entry Level Police Officer eligibility list, the opportunity to enter into executive session, should they wish to. Request to extend Eligibility List for Police Lieutenant Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Commissioner Neumueller to extend the Eligibility List for Police Lieutenant for an additional year. Motion carried unanimously. Acknowledgement of Job Description Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Commissioner Neumuller to accept the Job Description for Environmental Compliance Inspector. Motion carried unanimously. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Commissioner Neumuller to accept the Job Description for Elderly Service Program Coordinator. Request for Civil Service Job Classification Motion made by Commissioner Rogers to add Human Resources Assistant position into the Civil Service Job Classification, seconded by Commissioner Neumuller. Request Removal of Candidate – Assistant Finance Director Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Commissioner Neumuller to remove Candidate #913363 who withdrew from the process and candidate #50335084 who did not meet the requirements for the position. Motion carried unanimously. Request Removal of Candidate – Police Lieutenant Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Commissioner Neumuller to remove Gary Coe from the Eligibility List. Motion carried unanimously. Acknowledgement of Position Review / Job Description Motion made by Commisoner Rogers, seconded by Commissioner Nuemuller to acknowledge 2 new positions with the City of Danbury: Assistant Director of Finance – Budget & Grants & Assistant Director of Finance – Operations. Motion carried unanimously. Reversal of Candidate Removal on Certified Police Officer Eligibility List Promulgated February 8th, 2022 Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Commissioner Nuemuller to reverse the removal of Candidate #591188 Randy Polanco.
