CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES November 8, 2023 10:00 A.M. Via Videoconference (ZOOM) Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Susan Ward; also present were Commissioner Rick Rogers, Chief Examiner Nelly Espinal HR Generalist Christina Norman, HR Assistant Aleyda Martinez, Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour and member of the Public Denise Cruz-Holguin Minutes: Meeting November 15th, 2023. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to accept the meeting minutes dated November 15th, 2023. Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: New Hires: John Dawid – Assistant Building Inspector/Plan Reviewer Michael Felizardo – Truck Driver New Business: Candidate Removal- Certified Police Officer Eligibility List Chair Susan Ward offered the candidate being considered for removal from the Certified Police Officer Eligibility list, the opportunity to enter into executive session, should she wish to; candidate elected to go into executive session. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to remove candidate #609899 Denise Cruz-Holguin from the Certified Police Officer Eligibility list as the candidate was considered unsuccessful. Motion carried unanimously. Request additional interviews for Entry Level Firefighters Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to approve the request for additional Firefighter candidates. Motion carried unanimously. Motion to table some items to the following Civil Service Commission Meeting Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to table the following items til the next Civil Service Commission meeting of November 30th, 2023; • Request removal of Certified Police Officers (APPLICANT REQUEST) - Kieran Waters Qualifications of Applicants: Tree Worker / Bucket Operator, Water Treatment Plant Operator and Utility Mechanic. Motion carried unanimously. Qualification of Applications: Truck Driver Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to accept the following applicants: 7063008, 25717301, 45511618, 48478608, 48738740, 49096531, 51748653, 52563822, 55272555, 55635950, 55686507, 55689732, and 55714199 and to reject all other applicants for lack of requirements.
