CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES August 14, 2024 10:00 A.M. Via Videoconference (ZOOM) Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Susan Ward; also present were Commissioner Rick Rogers, Chief Examiner Nelly Espinal, HR Generalist Christina Norman, HR Assistant Aleyda Martinez, Superintendent of Public Buildings Sean Hanley, Library Director Katie Pearson, and Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour. Joined later in the meeting Director or Human Resources Ginny Werner and Superintendent of Public Utilities David Day. Minutes: Meeting July 31st, 2024 Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to accept the meeting minutes dated July 31st, 2024. Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: New Hires: John Swanson – Pipe Installer I and Rosa Bowden-MacCalla – Office Manager Promotions: Pasquale Archiere- Pipe Installer I New Business: Removal from the Certified Police Officer Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to remove applicant #740574 Kimani Stevens from the Certified Police Officer eligibility list, as he is deemed unsuccessful. Motion carried unanimously. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to remove applicant #741526 Joseph Criollo from the Certified Police Officer eligibility list, as he has failed to respond to requests for interviews. Motion carried unanimously. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to remove applicant #761536 from the Entry Level Police Officer eligibility list, as he was deemed unsuccessful. Motion carried unanimously. Certification of Senior Field Person Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers and seconded by Chair Ward to certify the Senior Field Person eligibility list with an expiration date of August 14th, 2025. Motion carried unanimously. Certification of Librarian I – Innovation & Sustainability Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers and seconded by Chair Ward to certify the Librarian I – Innovation & Sustainability eligibility list with an expiration date of August 14th, 2025. Motion carried unanimously. Acknowledgement of Accountant Position Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to acknowledge and add to the classified service the job description for the position of Accountant. Motion carried unanimously. Qualifications of Applications: Librarian I- English Language Learning Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to reject all 6 applicants as they all lacked the minimum requirements of the position. Motion carried unanimously.
