CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES December 18, 2024 10:00 A.M. Via Videoconference (ZOOM) Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Susan Ward; also present were Commissioner Rick Rogers, Chief Examiner Nelly Espinal, HR Generalist Christina Norman, HR Assistant Aleyda Martinez, Chief of Police Patrick Ridenhour, and Entry Level Police Applicant Michael Long. Minutes: Meeting November 20th, 2024 Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to accept the meeting minutes from November 20th, 2024. Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: New Hires: Kenneth Kubisek, Craig Kelly & Michael Lasowski – Truck Driver(s) Adriana Navea – Librarian I (Language Services) Catherine Monckton – Assistant Zoning Enforcement Officer Katherine Michele Criollo Carrion – Clerk Typist II Promotions: Lisa Knapp – Real Estate Mapping Associate Ryan Boggan – Associate Director of Environmental Health Resignations/ Retirements/ Terminations: Myckol Rodriguez- Police Officer New Business: Removal- Entry Level Police Officer Candidate from Eligibility List Chair Ward offered the candidate the option to go into executive session should the candidate not want the discussion regarding the status of his application to be discussed in an open session and on the record. The applicant elected not to go into executive session. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to remove candidate #757775 Michael Long from the Entry Level Police Officer eligibility list, as he is deemed unsuccessful. Motion carried unanimously. Application Appeal- Laborer/Mason Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to accept the appeal of applicant #60193735 Michael Debiase and to be considered for the exam process for the position of Laborer/Mason. Motion carried unanimously. Removal from Clerk Typist II Eligibility List Motion made by Commissioner Rogers and seconded by Chair Ward to remove the following candidates from the Clerk Typist II eligibility list promulgated April 19th, 2023; 52864674, 33228468, 53108631, 53203738, 53290611, 18059202 and 52840482. These candidates are either no longer interested, have requested to be removed or have not been appointed after three interviews. Motion carried unanimously. Correction – Qualification of Public Health Inspector Motion made by Commissioner Rogers and seconded by Chair Ward to reverse the rejection of applicant #47467945 Lauren Saldutti as her application does meet the requirements of the Public Health Inspector position and to be considered for the exam process. Motion carried unanimously. Qualifications of Applications: Deputy Fire Chief Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to accept the following applications as they meet the minimum requirements of the position of Deputy Fire Chief; 47085510, 47094745, 47094765, 47125068, and 60401116.
