CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES February 5, 2025 10:00 A.M. Via Videoconference (ZOOM) Roll Call: The meeting was called to order by Chair Susan Ward; also present were Commissioner Rick Rogers, Chief Examiner Nelly Espinal, Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour, HR Generalist Christina Norman, Matthew DeFazio, Entry Level Police applicant, and we were later joined by HR Director Ginny Werner. Minutes: Meeting January 23rd, 2025 Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to accept the meeting minutes from January 23rd, 2025. Motion carried unanimously. Personnel Status: New Hires: David Lowenadler- Building Inspector New Business: Removal- Entry Level Police Officer Candidates from Eligibility List Chair Ward offered the candidate the option to go into executive session should the candidate not want the discussion regarding the status of his application to be discussed in an open session and on the record. The candidate elected to go into executive session. Motion made by Commission Rogers, and seconded by Chair Ward to go into executive session. Motion carried unanimously. Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to remove candidate #755655 Matthew DeFazio from the Entry Level Police Officer eligibility list, as he was deemed unsuccessful. Motion carried unanimously. Application Appeal- LTA-Project Coordinator Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to accept the appeal of applicant #48102645 Kimberly Anderson and to be considered for the exam process for the position of LTA- Program Coordinator. Motion carried unanimously. New Position Acknowledgement- Public Safety Technology Manager Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to acknowledge and add to the classified service the job description for the position of Public Safety Technology Manager. Motion carried unanimously. Qualifications of Applications: Clerk Typist II Motion made by Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Chair Ward to reject the following applicants as the applicants did not meet the minimum requirements of the position: 24366427, 26536645, 48700611, 49444654, 50195372, 53745484, 60321776, 60822843, 60823688, 60852103, 60882652, 60946384, 61007507, and 61071170 and to accept all other applicants as they meet the requirements of the position.
