Richter Park Authority Master Plan Committee Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, August 3, 2022, 5:00 P.M.

100 Aunt Hack Road, Danbury CT
Chairman Judy Griemsmann called the meeting to order at 5:15 p.m.
Members present: Bobby Bria, Judy Griemsmann, Al Mead
Also present: Pete Siecienski
Absent: John Priola
Mr. Mead made a motion to approve the minutes of the July 20, 2022 Master Plan
Committee meeting. Mr. Bria seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Old Business
Update on Richter House Grant and Renovation
Mr. Siecienski gave the following update regarding Richter House funding:
• $1.2 million remains from CG state grant.
• $ 500,000 additional funding from City of Danbury
• $200,000 additional available from State Historical Society if matched by City
of Danbury
• $ 650,000 award from the State of CT bonding commission to be used to make
the Richter House and property ADA compliant
Update on Musicals Stage Renovation
Mr. Bria reported that the “Renaissance at Richter” Gala held on July 8 to bene t
work on the new stage was a huge success. Performances of “The Sound of Music”
have been well received and well attended.
Richter Park 50th Anniversary Celebration, September 17, 2022,
11:00a.m.-5:00p.m.
Plans for this event include:
PR - • Story to be written for i95 broadcast
• Mr. Siecienski will work with Mayor’s o ce
• FORE will create 4 page pamphlet for PR ahead of event and as handout on
day of. (Page 1, Cover design, Page 2 Mission statement and brief history, P3
Schedule of events for the day, P, 4 Look at status of Richter Park today and brief
information about role of FORE.
• Social media - Facebook and others. Someone needed to assist in setting up.
• Other - Create one page pdf yer that can be distributed via email to service
groups, libraries , Danbury Museum and Historical Society, etc. to be posted on
websites.

Opening Ceremony to dedicate the Felix Bonacci Walk
Mr. Mead will oversee. Invitations will be sent to those with long history with
Richter Park. Three from this group will be asked to make a few, brief remarks.
This event will be followed by dedication of the bench in honor of Bob Succi and
Roger Gautrau.
Park locations to be highlighted or have focused activities include:
• Tennis Courts - RAA Board will be asked about sign to hang at tennis courts in honor
of Susan Roberts, a long-time, enthusiastic supporter of tennis at Richter Park.
• Hiking trails
• Driving range - a variety of activities (contests?) to be ongoing during the day. Golf
professionals to oversee.
• Stage events - Mr. Bria has arranged for a 30 minute musical performance to occur
every hour on the hour between noon and ve pm. He is willing to share every other
hour with RAA, if they choose to do so.
Food and Drink
Food and drink during the day should be simple, portable and reasonably
priced. David LaJoie is looking into this.
New Business
None was discussed.
Mr. Mead made a motion to adjourn at 6:10 p.m. Mr. Bria seconded.
Motion passed unanimously.
