RICHTER PARK AUTHORITY MEETING MINUTES Richter Park Authority Office Tuesday, February 21, 2023, 6:00 PM In compliance with Connecticut General Statute § 1-225, these minutes are being provided for informational purposes and are subject to approval of the Richter Park Authority Board of Directors at its next regular meeting. Chairman Pete Siecienski opened the meeting at 6:00 PM. Members present: John Priola, Al Mead, George Radachowsky, Leroy Diggs, Bob Eberhard, Judy Griemsmann, Pam St. Pierre and Paul DiNardo Also present: Jonathan Pinto, Head Golf Professional, Rob Dorsch, Golf Course Superintendent, Karen Madaus, Business Manager and Bobby Bria, Musicals at Richter. Absent: Dave Lajoie and Art Haddad Public participation None. Approve minutes of previous meetings Mr. Mead made a motion to approve the minutes from the January 11th Contract Committee meeting. Mr. Eberhard seconded. Ms. Griemsmann abstained. Motion passed unanimously. Mr. Eberhard made a motion to approve the minutes from the January RPA meeting. Mr. Diggs seconded. Mr. Priola and Mr. Mead abstained. Motion passed. Mr. Mead made a motion to approve the minutes from the January Master Plan Committee meeting. Mr. Diggs seconded. Mr. Priola, Mr. Eberhard and Mr. Radachowsky abstained. Motion passed. Correspondence Mr. Siecienski spoke with Mr. LoRusso about his Twilight Pass renewal and the previous conflict of interest issue. The issue has been resolved and the pass should be renewed. Mr. Mead made a motion to renew Mr. LoRusso’s Twilight Pass. Mr. Radachowsky seconded. Mr. Priola abstained. Motion passed. Arts Association Met last week. 1) The Annual Spring Art Show will open 5/20 and go through 6/4/23. 2) There was a discussion about PR and increasing awareness in the community. 3) The spring performance season will start two weeks later (has been worked out with Musicals at Richter) . Musicals at Richter We are moving forward with our 2023 season, which will be the Adams Family and Music Man. This Thursday is the last Fairfield County Giving Day and the goal is to raise $10,000. MAR is also applying for a $50K grant through the Woodward Foundation. MPC-Richter House Met on February 1st and shared ideas about projects including as adding benches to the hiking trails and adding a sculpture garden to the Richter House. Mr. DiNardo mentioned that the trailhead sign is in need of repair, and perhaps it can be fixed and moved to a more visible location. FORe No meeting. Business Manager’s Report The President’s Day weekend sale is almost done and it has been very successful. Mr. DiNardo asked that information on sponsorships be sent to the RPA and Men’s Club, once it’s updated for 2023. Head Golf Professional The President’s Day weekend sale has exceeded last year’s sales of $120K. The Pro Shop renovations are 98% done and the total cost is under budget due to bartering. The PGA show went very well. The Carriage house needs the HVAC system replaced. Grounds and Greens It’s been a good winter so far with no ice. Opening is coming soon. The tee markers are all straightened. The rock wall on Hole #8 needed an additional permit, so the construction should be done in two weeks. Financial report We are in a good cash position to start the year. Mr. Mead made a motion to accept the report and place it on file for audit. Mr. DiNardo seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Finance Committee Report No report. Old business There was a News-Times article about the Richter House. There is no “new” $650K grant. The Superintendent’s contract was discussed by Mr. Eberhard. Mr. Mead made a motion to accept the Committee’s recommendations. Mr. Priola seconded. After some discussion, a vote was taken. Six RPA members were in favor. Mr. Radachowsky and Mr. Diggs voted against. Motion passed. New business none. Chairman’s Comments/Report None. Executive Session None. Mr. Mead made a motion to adjourn at 7:26 pm. Mr. Eberhard seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
